The Opportunity

EnerMech is seeking a results-driven Business Development Lead to lead sales performance, grow revenue and strengthen customer relationships across our Energy Solutions business line.

This role is responsible for converting opportunities into profitable business, managing customer accounts, delivering sales targets and ensuring consistent commercial performance. Working closely with Business Development, Operations and Commercial teams, you will develop customer engagement plans, oversee sales activity and ensure opportunities are progressed efficiently from initial enquiry through to contract award.

The successful candidate will be a highly motivated commercial professional with a passion for customer engagement, sales excellence and delivering sustainable business growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement sales plans aligned with regional business objectives and revenue targets.
  • Deliver agreed sales, revenue and gross margin objectives across assigned markets and service lines.
  • Manage the full sales lifecycle from enquiry through proposal, negotiation and contract award.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing customers, identifying opportunities to increase market share and customer spend.
  • Work closely with Business Development teams to convert qualified opportunities into successful contract awards.
  • Prepare and present commercial proposals, quotations and customer presentations.
  • Negotiate commercial terms in line with company policies and delegated authority.
  • Maintain an accurate sales pipeline and provide regular forecasting and performance reporting.
  • Work collaboratively with Operations, Engineering and Commercial teams to ensure customer requirements are translated into commercially competitive solutions.
  • Monitor sales performance, customer activity and market trends to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Promote cross-selling and integrated service offerings across EnerMech's business lines.
  • Represent EnerMech professionally at customer meetings, site visits, exhibitions and industry events.
  • Ensure CRM systems and sales reporting are maintained accurately and consistently.

About You

You are a commercially focused sales professional with experience selling technical or engineering services within the energy, industrial, infrastructure or related sectors.

You have a proven ability to build customer relationships, negotiate commercial agreements and consistently achieve sales targets. You are organised, customer-focused and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment where collaboration and commercial performance are equally important.

You will also demonstrate:

  • Proven experience in a Sales Manager or senior sales role within engineering or industrial services.
  • Strong understanding of technical service sales and solution-based selling.
  • Experience managing customer accounts and delivering revenue growth.
  • Excellent commercial awareness with a strong understanding of pricing, profitability and contract negotiation.
  • Strong communication, presentation and influencing skills.
  • Experience preparing proposals, quotations and commercial submissions.
  • Ability to manage multiple opportunities while maintaining a strong customer focus.
  • Excellent planning, organisational and analytical skills.
  • Experience using CRM systems and sales reporting tools.
  • Willingness to travel as required.
  • A degree or equivalent qualification in Business, Engineering or a related discipline is desirable.
