About SynMax
SynMax is redefining how geospatial data and analytics support the world’s most critical
missions. Our proprietary Theia platform delivers actionable intelligence from satellite and
sensor data: empowering defense, intelligence, and government organizations to make faster,
smarter, and safer decisions.

dynamic environment for those who want to shape the future of space-based data and national
security applications.
About the Role
We’re seeking a Business Development Manager with experience in Federal Business Development to drive strategic growth across the U.S. federal market, including defense, intelligence, and civilian agencies. You’ll own capture and
sales cycles end-to-end - from opportunity identification to contract award, and work hands-on
with technical teams to deliver customer-ready solutions.
This is both a strategic and tactical role: you’ll be building long-term relationships, managing
complex federal sales processes, and also rolling up your sleeves to lead demos, proposals,
and deal execution.
What You'll Do
- Drive SynMax’s business development activities within the federal and state contractor ecosystem.
- Develop and execute go-to-market strategies for Theia and related SynMax solutions across defense, intelligence, and civil agencies.
- Act as a subject matter expert (SME) on the Theia platform: able to conduct live demos, answer technical questions confidently, and represent SynMax independently when needed.
- Identify, qualify, and capture new opportunities by engaging key stakeholders and decision-makers within target agencies.
- Build and maintain a strong pipeline, leveraging existing and emerging contract vehicles.
- Partner with internal teams: product, tech, legal, and marketing to shape solutions aligned with customer mission needs.
- Negotiate and close deals that balance customer success with SynMax’s growth goals.
- Develop and manage relationships with system integrators, primes, and technology partners to expand market access.
- Stay informed on federal budget cycles, acquisition trends, and policy developments that impact SynMax’s growth strategy.
- Represent SynMax at conferences, demonstrations, and industry events, promoting our capabilities and mission impact.
What You'll Bring
- Proven track record of business development, capture, or federal sales success within defense, intelligence, or federal civilian agencies.
- Strong understanding of U.S. government acquisition processes and contracting frameworks.
- Demonstrated success winning new business through capture and proposal management.
- Ability to translate complex technical products into mission-relevant value propositions.
- Comfortable engaging at all levels: from technical teams to senior agency leadership.
- Entrepreneurial mindset and willingness to operate hands-on in a fast-moving startup environment.
- Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
Preferred Experience
- Familiarity with geospatial, satellite imagery, AI/ML, or ISR technologies.
- Existing federal network within defense, intelligence, or homeland security domains.
- Experience working with or through federal prime contractors and system integrators.
Why SynMax
- Shape the future of geospatial intelligence and AI-driven insight.
- Join a fast-growing company trusted by commercial and government clients worldwide.
- Direct visibility. Your work will influence strategy and growth at a pivotal stage.
- Competitive compensation, performance incentives, and growth opportunities.
