About the Role

We’re looking for a to join our team as Business Development Manager - Third Party Remarketing. In this role, you will develop Third Party Remarketing relationships externally through prospecting, lead generation, analytics, proposals, negotiations, and ultimately onboarding new customers. You will collaborate with the team of professionals who support our Third-Party clients to deliver on a superior client experience. You will contribute to financial performance by developing new client relationships, expanding existing business, optimizing vehicle disposition outcomes, and monitoring remarketing performance.

What You’ll Do

  • Drive Wing-to-Wing sales processes to include customer prospecting, lead generation, making sales calls, analyzing data, preparing proposals, negotiating price or other terms, and onboarding new customers to initiate relationship building process.
  • Research and contract new clients with owned vehicles and repossessed assets and sign them up for Remarketing Servicing through Element with the goal of generating service revenue.
  • Develop annual strategic plan including key milestones, deliverables and timelines and execute, engaging others in the business as required.
  • Support the implementation and ongoing development of a strategic plan focused on vehicle remarketing and align with overall organization on strategic goals, to position ELEMENT as a subject matter expert and differentiate us in the marketplace.
  • Design and implementation of marketing campaigns and auction promotions, evaluation and pricing of vehicles offered for sale, ensure operational effectiveness and efficiency of vendors used for disposal, frequent verbal and written communication to clients regarding the disposition of assets.
  • Understand prospects’ business objectives and translate into solutions to achieve successful outcomes for both the customer and Element.
  • Capture dealer needs and expectations and tailor Element’s offerings to win customers.
  • Develop effective business relationships with new prospects, and maintain a cohesive working relationship with departments and functions within the Company.
  • Develop and present sales proposals and executive level presentations.

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5+ years of relevant experience in vehicle remarketing, automotive sales, fleet, auction operations, or a related field, with demonstrated knowledge of the end-to-end vehicle remarketing process.
  • Demonstrated business development experience, including prospecting and identifying prospective third-party clients, generating qualified leads, developing a sales pipeline, and converting opportunities into new client relationships and closed business.
  • Experience onboarding and expanding third-party client relationships, including assessing client needs, developing solutions, supporting negotiations, and transitioning new business from sale through implementation and ongoing relationship management.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships with dealer and commercial accounts and develop a strong understanding of their vehicle disposition needs, business objectives, and drivers of successful remarketing outcomes.
  • Consultative sales experience with the ability to articulate the value of professional remarketing services, develop a compelling client value proposition, and recommend remarketing strategies aligned with client objectives.
  • Ability to travel to auction locations, client or prospect meetings, industry conferences, and other business events approximately 25–30%, as business needs require.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Education: College/University degree preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, Automotive Management, or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant professional experience will be considered.
  • Knowledge of vehicle maintenance, repair, manufacturer warranties, vehicle manufacturers, and upfit considerations preferred where relevant to evaluating assets and advising clients.
  • Strong financial acumen and demonstrated practical analytical proficiency and problem solving skills.
  • Experience at effectively building and fostering strong relationships with internal and external business partners and clients.
  • Proficient in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Compensation

The hiring base salary range for this position is $101,900 - $140,140 annually. This range represents the Company's good-faith estimate of the expected base salary at the time of posting. Salary ranges may vary based on the geographic location where the work is performed. The salary range listed in this posting applies only to the location identified. Actual compensation will be determined based on several factors, including the successful candidate's qualifications, knowledge, skills, experience, internal pay equity, and relevant market data. In addition to base salary, eligible employees may participate in annual incentive programs, including bonuses, commissions, or other incentive compensation, as applicable to the role. Element also offers a comprehensive benefits package, which may include health insurance, tuition reimbursement, and retirement savings plans.
