Position Overview

In this role the BDM will report directly to the Head of Distribution. This role will also work closely with the Underwriting team and the Director of Cyber Risk Solutions, aligning strategy, engagement, and connectivity focused on Converge’ s wholesale and partnered insurance strategy, identifying new opportunities, building out relationships and driving strategic engagement primarily in the Midwest/Central region. We are looking for seasoned sales professionals in the territory to help us develop and empower the success of our partners by aligning our product, technology and capabilities in support of our broker’s business goals.

Key Responsibilities

• The Business Development Manager will work with the Head of Distribution and Underwriting team to develop regional business plans that drive growth, optimize our products and programs, generate new opportunities, and retain renewals.

• The Business Development Manager will conduct planned brokerage visits within an assigned territory to develop new accounts, service existing accounts, review broker performance and improve the broker relationship with Converge.

• The Business Development Manager supports the Head of Distribution and Underwriting team by reinforcing Converge’s product appetite, coverage options, pricing, claims handling, and security service capabilities.

• Responsible for brokers’ satisfaction with Converge products/capabilities and connecting brokerage contacts to the appropriate Converge resources including underwriting, claims, and security services.

• The Business Development Manager will monitor performance and identify trends, partner alignment, and provide guidance to brokers as part of their periodic reviews.

• The Business Development Manager supports the Head of Distribution and Director of Cyber Risk Solutions on the success of the partnered insurance program initiatives, from lead generation to Go-to-Market strategy.

• Up to 25% of travel required (depending on location)

Qualifications & Experience

• 5+ years of experience in sales & underwriting, placing commercial cyber insurance and/or technology or cybersecurity

• Self-motivated and entrepreneurial spirit

• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

• Strong interpersonal communication skills (verbal & written)

• Strong presentation skills

• Aptitude to learn technical concepts and terms

• Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects simultaneously

Education

• Bachelor’s degree.

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

• Ability to lift up to 15 pounds occasionally.

Compensation & Benefits

• Pay Range: $145,000 – $185,000 annually (commensurate with experience and location).

• Total Compensation Context: This role may be eligible for annual performance bonuses and equity participation.
