Business Development Representative - Portsmouth NH / Public Sector

Prospect and qualify public sector clients (government, state, local, education), book meetings, support sales executives, maintain CRM records, collaborate on targeted campaigns, and promote IT modernization, cybersecurity, cloud, and compliance solutions to meet outreach and pipeline targets.
The Public Sector BDR will play a critical role in expanding Blue Mantis’ presence within government, education, and other public sector organizations. You will engage prospective clients, articulate our value proposition, and help public sector entities modernize their IT infrastructure while meeting compliance and security requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify and prospect new public sector clients (state, local, education, and government agencies) through research, outbound outreach, and networking.
- Qualify leads and initiate meaningful conversations focused on clients’ IT modernization, cybersecurity, cloud, and compliance challenges.
- Schedule meetings and support sales executives in the sales process.
- Maintain accurate records of outreach and client interactions in CRM systems.
- Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to develop targeted campaigns for public sector prospects.
- Stay current on public sector technology trends, procurement methods, and compliance frameworks (e.g., NIST, HIPAA, PCI.
- Articulate the Blue Mantis value proposition—security-first, cost optimization, compliance, and innovation—to public sector decision-makers.
- Meet or exceed monthly and quarterly targets for outreach, meetings booked, and pipeline generation.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
Qualifications
- 1-3 years of business development, sales, or lead generation experience (preferably in IT services or public sector markets).
- Understanding of public sector procurement cycles and compliance requirements.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- Experience using CRM and sales enablement tools.
- Knowledge of IT solutions such as managed services, cybersecurity, cloud, and data enablement is a plus
