Packetlabs was built by an ethical hacker after seeing vulnerability assessments presented as penetration tests. Our slogan “Ready for more than a VA scan?” drives at the importance of not providing our clients with a false sense of security. We are a passionate team of highly trained, proactive, ethical hackers. We provide expert-level penetration testing services that are thorough and tailored to help foster a safe digital space where everyone has the right to privacy and security. To do so, we only hire individuals with the same drive and passion.

At Packetlabs, we know that a high-performing sales team is the key to sustained, consistent growth. That’s why we’re seeking a qualified Business Development Representative (BDR) to uncover and qualify potential clients who could benefit from working with us. As the first line of communication with a prospect, the ideal BDR has a strong understanding of the sales process. They excel at researching leads, starting new relationships, and setting up Account Executives for success. The BDR should be a quick learner who has strong communication skills and the ability to showcase our services compellingly.

Why This BDR Role is Different

  • Most BDR roles focus on high-volume outreach with little room for creativity. This is not that role.
At Packetlabs, we take a strategic, research-driven approach. Your ability to uncover insights, map networks, and create personalized, high-impact outreach will set you apart.
  • You won’t just generate leads. You’ll study won business, identify trends, and source expansion opportunities.

Who You Are

  • Always Learning: You stay ahead of cybersecurity and sales trends to improve your capabilities
Top Performer: You have a proven sales development track record with at least two years of experience in similar roles
  • Data-Driven: You understand sales metrics (KPIs) and can translate activities into outcomes
  • Humble: You leave your ego at the door
  • A Natural Communicator: You can engage and influence senior decision-makers, such as CISOs and IT Security Leaders, with credibility
  • Deeply Curious About Organizations: You go beyond surface-level research. You seek to understand company dynamics, decision-making hierarchies, and internal influences. Bonus if you can decode investor reports, quarterly earnings calls, and strategy documents to craft personalized outreach
  • A Master of Personalization: You take pride in writing high-impact, tailored messages that outperform AI-generated outreach. You know that the right message at the right time is a game-changer
  • Strategic in Your Approach: You don’t just chase new leads. You analyze won deals, extract key patterns, and source similar clients to expand revenue opportunities
Resilient and Results-Driven: You thrive in a fast-paced environment, embrace challenges, and are committed to hitting and exceeding targets
  • Highly Organized and Detail-Oriented: You know how to track data, follow structured outreach sequences, and optimize your pipeline
  • Tech-Savvy: You are comfortable using CRMs, social media, and sales automation tools
  • Team-Oriented: You collaborate well with AEs, marketing, and leadership to improve the sales process
  • Passionate About Cybersecurity: You care about helping companies protect themselves from cyberattacks and want to sell a solution that matters

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Drive new business by generating and qualifying leads through strategic outbound prospecting using email, LinkedIn, phone, and social selling
  • Craft outreach that is so personalized, relevant, and insightful that it is too hard to ignore
  • Leverage investor reports, strategy documents, and company earnings calls to create messaging that resonates with executive buyers
  • Engage decision-makers and build relationships through consultative selling approaches
  • Book and qualify meetings using the BANT (Budget, Authority, Need, Timing) framework
  • Work closely with Account Executives to understand won business, the factors that drove the deal, and how the client achieved success
  • Use insights from won deals to identify and source similar clients in related industries or with shared pain points
  • Track key performance metrics such as response rates, meetings set, and opportunities created. Log all activity in our CRM
  • Continuously refine outreach strategies based on data, coaching, and market feedback
  • Stay informed about cybersecurity trends to have relevant conversations with CISOs, IT leaders, and security professionals
  • Learn, understand, and embrace the culture and core values of Packetlabs

What You Bring

  • Two or more years of experience in Sales Development, Business Development, or similar outbound sales roles
  • A proven track record of exceeding lead generation and meeting-setting goals
  • Experience selling security, SaaS, or IT services is preferred
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to craft persuasive messaging across LinkedIn, email, and phone
  • Familiarity with outbound prospecting tools

Here’s How We Define Success

  • Daily New Prospects: You consistently research and add 40 or more high-quality leads per day
  • Follow-ups Per Prospect: You deliver at least 5 strategic touchpoints per lead through calls, emails, and LinkedIn
  • Response Rate (20%): Your outreach consistently engages prospects in conversation
  • Meeting Conversion (30%): Your messaging leads to booked discovery calls
  • Opportunity Creation (50%): You qualify and convert half of your meetings into sales opportunities
  • You can clearly connect outbound sales activity to revenue impact

Why Us

  • Amazing team and working environment
  • Competitive compensation and pay for performance
  • Employee growth and development
  • Fully remote (in Texas)
