The Business Development Representative at Espresa is a key role in our Go-to-Market Team. This role helps execute strategic plans to develop new business meetings and opportunities. The goal is to generate demand and opportunities across direct-to-employer and strategic alliance channels. This individual will directly contribute to developing new business meetings and opportunities. Key aspects of this role include: 

Business Development and Growth 

  • Work closely with sales teams to develop and implement proactive approaches to generating qualified new business meetings/opportunities and targeting accounts that meet the ideal customer profile.
  • Achieve quarterly and annual new business meetings/opportunity targets.
  • Manage business development activity in Espresa’s CRM system of record - track prospect interactions, manage lead information, and enrich CRM data (key contacts, incumbent vendors, renewal dates, and competitor usage to enhance future sales efforts).
  • Report out on meeting activity and outreach strategies.
  • Maintain contact with potential clients through follow-up communications to nurture relationships and help advance them to meetings/opportunities.
  • Stay informed about market trends and competitive products. This includes understanding the industry, identifying potential market segments, and keeping up to date with changes that may affect demand. 

This is an opportunity to become a key contributor of a rapidly growing company with many opportunities to expand in roles and responsibilities. Espresa is a pre-IPO company, which is growing rapidly, and generous stock is part of the compensation package. 

Additional items required for the role 

  • Industry knowledge and experience developing meetings/opportunities with midsized and large employer accounts.
  • Ability to convey ideas, expectations, and information effectively and clearly.
  • Exceptional communication skills to articulate Espresa's product vision establishing credibility and highlighting Espresa’s value.
  • Capable of operating independently as a self-starter, adept at prioritizing and managing multiple tasks within tight deadlines.
  • Ability to flourish in a fast-paced, dynamic, and entrepreneurial environment.
  • Possess an unwavering commitment to ensure the company meets and exceeds its targets.
  • Inspire and motivate, fostering a culture that maximizes the passion and potential of Espresa’s employees. 

The must haves 

  • 2 – 5 years of business development in SAAS, experience in the employer benefits and/or HR technology industry is preferred. 
  • BA or BS desired - experience in lieu of degree considered. 

 Nice to haves 

  • Start-up experience
  • Experience with Salesforce CRM, MixMax, ZoomInfo, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, and BenefitFlow.
