Job Description

RectorSeal, a leading manufacturer of innovative solutions for the professional trades, is looking for a driven Business Development Specialist to accelerate growth of our TRUaire and Shoemaker GRD (Grilles, Registers, Diffusers) product lines in the Eastern U.S.

We are a performance-driven company that rewards those who take ownership, deliver results, and make a measurable impact. If you thrive in a mix of technical sales, data-driven analysis, and relationship building, this is your opportunity to join a winning culture and grow your career with a trusted industry leader.

What You’ll Do

You’ll be the go-to expert and connector for all things GRD — building brand presence, supporting distributors, and influencing key decision-makers. This role blends customer engagement with analytical problem-solving: about 40% of your time will focus on relationship-driven activities such as product training, calls, and contractor or distributor visits, while the remaining 60% will center on data analysis, pricing, quoting, and internal collaboration using tools like Excel, PowerBI, and market research insights.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive sales growth and market share for TRUaire and Shoemaker GRDs through HVAC two-step distribution
  • Grow commercial GRD markets by engaging contractors, influencing specifications, and delivering technical education
  • Support and expand residential GRD markets through analytics, training, and value-prop communication
  • Provide pricing analysis, cross-referencing, and job quotation support
  • Track opportunities, wins, and losses with accuracy and insight
  • Collaborate with Regional Sales Managers on sales strategies and growth initiatives
  • Serve as the link between reps, distributors, contractors, and engineers — the “connecting web” of the eastern division
  • Lead product and application training sessions for contractors, reps, and distributors
  • Attend tradeshows, industry events, and summits to represent RectorSeal and build GRD brand visibility

What Success Looks Like

  • Meeting or exceeding revenue targets aligned with RectorSeal’s sales growth goals
  • Recognized internally as the go-to GRD expert — known for responsiveness, insight, and effective solutions
  • Demonstrating a measurable increase in contractor engagement, commercial job quote wins, and market share across the region

What You Bring

  • 4+ years in HVAC distribution or related technical sales role
  • Strong understanding of two-step distribution and contractor engagement
  • Balance of salesmanship and analytical rigor — equally comfortable leading a customer call or working in Excel
  • Intermediate Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, formatting datasets, variance comparisons)
  • Proficiency in PowerPoint for building and delivering impactful product presentations
  • Ability to learn pricing structures and quotation workflows
  • Strong self-management and remote work discipline
  • Desire and aptitude to master the technical aspects of GRDs
  • Bachelor’s or Technical degree preferred
  • Willingness to travel up to 40%
