Business Process Analyst Senior

Our work depends on a Business Process Analyst Senior with Scrum Master experience joining our team to support our customer activities in Washington, DC.  This position can be worked Remote.

The prospective candidate should have experience in Agile methodologies, requirements gathering, and user story development, as well as proficiency with tools like Jira and Confluence. Day-to-day responsibilities include analyzing and improving business processes, gathering and translating stakeholder requirements, documenting workflows, identifying operational efficiencies, and supporting data-driven decision-making. This role requires strong knowledge and application of Agile and Scrum practices to facilitate ceremonies, support backlog refinement, remove impediments, track sprint progress, and help cross-functional teams deliver high-quality solutions on time. The ideal candidate is a collaborative problem-solver who can bridge business needs and technical execution, communicate clearly with diverse stakeholders, and drive continuous improvement in a fast-paced customer environment.

Job Responsibilities

  • Facilitate Agile ceremonies such as Scrum, backlog refinement, sprint planning, and retrospectives.
  • Manage Jira tasks for multiple Scrum and Kanban teams.
  • Act as a liaison between teams to ensure continuous communication, track sprint progress, and remove impediments.
  • Analyze existing business processes and end-to-end optimizing to drive operational excellence and efficiency through automation of strategic alignment.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to elicit, document, and validate business and functional requirements and translate them into user stories.
  • Develop user stories, acceptance criteria, and process flows to support customer.
  • Partner with business leaders, SMEs, technical teams, data analysts and operational staff to ensure end-to-end requirements are understood and implemented correctly.
  • Maintain structured documentation and linked artifacts in Confluence and track progress in Jira to ensure alignment between requirements, development, operations, and reporting.
  • Leverage AI tools such (Claude, CoPilot, etc.) to manage multiple projects and priorities, and initiate follow up to ensure timely achievement of commitments.
  • Support members of team in other related duties.

Education

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 3+ years of experience in business process analysis or similar role.

Required Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of Agile methodology and frameworks. Agile certification preferred, e.g., Certified Scrum Master (CSM), SAFe Agilist, or equivalent.
  • Proven experience writing requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Proficiency with Jira and Confluence for requirements and project tracking while leveraging AI.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience writing requirements and creating user stories.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Familiarity with refugee and immigrant population or other social programs.
  • Understanding of ITIL or other process improvement frameworks.
  • Experience with integration of business and operational data into Jira and Confluence to enable traceability, reporting, and workflow automation.

The likely salary range for this position is $102,000 - $138,000. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
