The Business Process Improvement Lead is responsible for evaluating, redesigning, and optimizing end-to-end business processes to improve operational efficiency, predictability, and alignment with strategic objectives. This role partners closely with functional leaders, Program Management, and Change Management to address systemic process challenges and embed continuous improvement across the organization. The role is particularly critical in supporting post-system implementation stabilization, scaling operations to support continued growth, and ensuring that process maturity evolves alongside the business.
In This Role
- Lead end-to-end assessments of core business processes across functions (e.g., order-to-cash, product development, supply chain, financial processes, etc.)
- Facilitate cross-functional analysis and discovery interviews and workshops to align stakeholders on process design and ownership
- Identify root causes of inefficiency, rework, delays, and variability using structured problem-solving methodologies
- Map and document current state business processes, workflows and systems
- Translate business needs into functional and nonfunctional system requirements
- Identify inefficiencies, redundancies, bottlenecks and areas for automation or simplification
- Design future-state processes, including defining clear handoffs, decision points, business rules, controls, exception handling, and performance metrics
- Gather and analyze system performance metrics (days to release, shipment, invoicing, etc.)
- Define and track KPIs to measure process performance and improvement impact
- Partner with Program Management to translate approved process designs into executable initiatives
- Collaborate with Change Management to support adoption, training, and sustainability of new processes
- Work with technical teams to design future state processes aligned with business requirements and needs
- Partner with other external system partners to ensure process feasibility with integrated platforms
- Establish lean and continuous improvement practices and governance to ensure long-term process health and streamline workflows; owns process assessment methodology and diagnostic approach
- Prioritizes process improvement initiatives based on business impact or other aligned criteria
- Manages intake and recommends and executes sequencing, governance, and control improvements
- Coach teams on Lean, structured problem-solving, and continuous improvement practices
- Lead post-implementation reviews and clearly communicate project status, outcomes, and learnings
- Other duties as assigned, in accordance with training and qualifications

The Ideal Person
- 7+ years of experience in business process improvement, continuous improvement, strategy or transformation roles
- Lean Six Sigma, BPM, or similar certification
- Strong proficiency in data analytics and visualization tools (Excel, PowerBI, etc)
- Strong analytical, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement skills
- Experience working alongside ERP or major system implementations preferred, Microsoft Dynamics a plus
- Ability to influence without formal authority, operate effectively across functional boundaries, and navigate a matrixed stakeholder environment
