Orchid Insurance, an Arrowhead Intermediaries company, is seeking a Business Solutions Architect to join our growing team.

A Business Solution Architect designs and implements technology solutions that align with an organization's business strategy. They bridge the gap between business needs and technical solutions, ensuring that technology investments support overall business goals. This involves understanding business requirements, designing technical architectures, and guiding the implementation process. 

This role will be responsible for supporting the technology vision and strategic roadmap by leveraging modern technology, architecture and design that deliver business value, achieve a competitive advantage in the marketplace and position Orchid Insurance as an InsureTech leader.

The successful candidate will lead in the delivery of the solution enhancements and capabilities across Orchid, ensuring there is an effective scalable technology platform to drive profitability through increased revenue and market share growth, industry leading customer experience and improved operational workflows.  They will be able to support production support tickets and driving the delivery solutions, as well as for our strategic projects.  This person will be a leader who can work in detail, understands the nuances of each business problem and guide the development and business resources to implement the best solution. 

How you Will contribute:

  • Collaborating with stakeholders to analyze business requirements, identify areas for improvement, and define the scope of solutions.
  • Developing comprehensive technical architectures that address business needs, considering factors like scalability, security, and integration.
  • Guiding and developing the implementation of solutions, working with the configuration teams, and ensuring alignment with architectural designs.
  • Assessing the effectiveness of solutions and making necessary adjustments to maximize business value.
  • Effectively communicating technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences and fostering collaboration between teams. 

    Skills & Experience to Be Successful:

    • Strong understanding of various technologies, including cloud computing, databases, and software development methodologies. 
    • Deep understanding of business processes, strategic planning, and the ability to align technology solutions with business goals. 
    • Ability to analyze complex business requirements, identify potential solutions, and evaluate their impact.  Oversee the requirements, design, technical scope and testing of changes.
    • Effectively communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. 
    • Ability to manage projects, coordinate teams, and ensure successful implementation. 
    • Knowledge of how different systems and technologies interact and integrate. 
    • Understanding of security best practices and the ability to incorporate them into solution designs. 
    • Ability to take a change from ideation through implementation, delivering a quality product.  Must be able to drive increased quality by performing code reviews, direct technical designs and architecture and follow best practices.

    Requirements:

    • 10 plus years of software development experience with 2+ years of Solution Architecture
    • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree. An advanced degree is preferred but not required.
    • Business knowledge of homeowners insurance is required to effectively align technology solutions with business needs and goals.
    • Experience managing geographically distributed teams.
    • Passion for software engineering and solving complex business challenges.
    • Proven results in delivering platform products.
    • Demonstrated strength in leading all phases of the Product Lifecycle, from understanding business needs to Cloud operations.
    • Experience with Solartis, Velocity, Qlik and Unqork (CaaS) preferred
    • Experience in cloud services, including Microsoft 365, Azure, and AWS
    • Expert level proficiency in Microsoft suite, Office365; focus on Excel and PowerPoint
    • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
    • Ability to work effectively within a decentralized operating environment.
    • Superior prioritization and multi-tasking abilities
    • Superior communication skills include connecting with and listening to all levels of the organization and across all functions.

    Pay Range

    170000.00 - 180000.00 Annual

    The pay range provided above is made in good faith and based on our lowest and highest annual salary or hourly rate paid for the role and takes into account years of experience required, geography, and/or budget for the role.
