About You

You have the capacity to achieve much more than is being asked of you. You are a natural leader who has mastered your craft as a financial executive. You’re passionate about helping companies grow and create a legacy.

You are well organized and incredibly comfortable in the role of financial leadership. You think strategically and love pushing companies (and people) to new heights. You enjoy rolling up your sleeves and seeing how you can make a real impact on a company and the lives within that company.

The Role

You will take leadership of a portfolio of growth-minded clients and be their CFO. You will help them define success, create the path there, and coach them along the way. Drawing upon your extensive background in accounting & finance you’ll help provide valuable insights into their business’s performance and how to impact their bottom and topline growth. You will be a key part of the company's leadership team, helping them drive towards their goals.

Responsibilities

  • Build authentic relationships with clients, anchored on respect and trust.
  • Guide clients in developing business and personal goals, and then create the financial road map to achieve those goals.
  • Coach and encourage executives and owners as they move from where they are now to their desired goal.
  • Prepare financial reports, analysis and forecasts, presenting and discussing them with clients as they pertain to the clients aspirations and goals.
  • Utilize your expertise to make suggestions and help management make decisions now that will benefit their company (securing that LOC, move accounting internally, deploy a new ERP, etc).
  • Staying out of the detailed weeds of accounting, and pushing the needle on large strategic and impactful decisions
  • Being assertive, having hard conversations with clients and challenging assumptions

Qualifications

We believe that attitude and behavior are more important than degrees and pedigrees. While we want you to be...

  • 10+ years in dynamic, high-growth business environments, holding roles such as Accounting Manager, Controller, CFO, or Fractional CFO.
  • Thrives in entrepreneurial settings with a high tolerance for uncertainty and risk.
  • Strong solution-oriented mindset, adept at tackling complex challenges.
  • Exceptional at establishing and maintaining trusted relationships with stakeholders.
  • Proficient in preparing and presenting financial reports, including Profit & Loss statements, Balance Sheets, Cash Flow Statements, and Business Tax Returns.
  • Expertise in financial modeling, analysis, and connecting business operations to financial performance.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and experience with cloud-based accounting tools (QuickBooks Online, Sage Intaact, Bill.com, Expensify) and ERP systems (SAP, Microsoft Dynamics, NetSuite).
  • Comfortable & confident delivering financial presentations and insights to various audiences.

...we think it is just as important that you:

  • Are kind to yourself and those around you
  • Have high initiative and are self-motivated
  • Execute, get the job done, and solve problems like a rock star
  • Have past successes
  • Can adapt to our environment, team, and clients

Pay & Benefits

We highly value transparency and believe it is a two-way street. We are looking to pay someone between $170,000 - $250,000. Where you fall in the range will depend on your prior experience and successes. There is enormous room for growth and opportunities for leadership.

  • 401K (with matching)
  • Home office set up stipend
  • Flexible hours
  • Unlimited PTO
  • No commuting (WFH)
  • Medical Benefits
  • Highly relational & fun culture
  • High growth and entrepreneurial environment
  • A place where you are a critical part of the team, not a number on a sheet

Who we are

Prosper CFO is at the cutting edge of how accounting, tax, and CFO services are being provided. We are innovating the services themselves as well as how they are delivered. Our goal is to transform the client experience.

We are expanding through a growing reputation for excellence. We’d love for you to be a part of that.
