At any given moment, 16 million Americans are navigating a crisis that requires urgent help from our legal system or government. Too many never get the help that could transform their lives. Atticus exists to change that.
We’ve built a modern law firm to help people with disabilities or injuries access the insurance and government benefits built to protect them. Our human-centered, tech-forward approach helps clients feel supported, setting us apart in a space all too often remembered for dubious billboard ads. So far, we’ve helped hundreds of thousands of people access over $10B in life-changing aid, but our work is far from complete.
We've raised more than $100 million from top VC firms like Fika, Forerunner, GV (Google Ventures), and True Ventures, with ambitions to create a category-defining business helping Americans in need. We closed our Series C round in April 2025, so we're well-funded and investing in growth (we expanded the team from 151 to 210 last year).
The JobThis is marketing with a mission. You’ll help people find us when they most need our help, doing so with empathy and care, and drawing on innovative marketing strategies to expand access to life-changing aid.
As the Chief of Staff to the CMO, you’ll report to our Chief Marketing Officer and will lead strategic projects, including launching new growth channels. You will own market and client insight, run new channel experiments, and scale what works. Day-to-day, you’ll work cross-functionally with Growth Marketing, Creative, Product, and Data partners to design, build, and run new channel tests.
No two weeks look the same. On a given week, you might:
Conduct quantitative and qualitative research to deepen our understanding of our clients and the contingent law space
Dig into data to surface the highest-potential growth opportunities hiding in our funnel
Develop a full marketing strategy for a new channel, defining the audience, offer, and differentiated positioning that will inspire our clients to choose Atticus
Launch a new channel test, defining a clear measurement framework and success criteria
Evaluate test performance, owning weekly reporting and analysis
Lead cross-functional projects with Creative, Growth Marketing, Product, Engineering, and Design teams to create product experiences that meet the unique needs of our audience
This role offers a unique combination of features: broad marketing scope and responsibility in a fast-growing Series C startup, mentorship from leaders across a variety of disciplines, and autonomy to shape our growth strategy as we scale. It’s an ideal proving ground for anyone looking to build broad, well-rounded experience as a foundation for future marketing leadership roles.
You’ll be successful in this role if…
You’ve spent 4+ years since graduating college developing strategy chops – as a strategy consultant, tech BizOps analyst, or tech product marketer – and you’ve been promoted because of your stellar performance
You’ve led work to define go-to-market or growth strategy for a product or business line
You are a strategic, first principles thinker who is guided by data and insight
You have experience conducting rigorous qualitative and quantitative market research
You are an excellent communicator, written and verbal
You are equal parts poet and quant; you have a creative side and a clear aesthetic point of view
You’re an ambitious self-starter; you thrive in ambiguous environments and enjoy a strategic challenge
You’re a kind and thoughtful colleague who knows how to shape a great team culture
You have a demonstrated commitment to doing good and helping people
Nice-to-Have: Experience using Looker, SQL, Google Analytics
We are strongly committed to building a diverse team. If you’re from a background that’s underrepresented in tech, we’d love to meet you.
Salary and BenefitsThis is a rare opportunity to join a startup that has strong traction (substantial funding, well-respected backers, tremendous growth, and many happy customers) but is still small enough that you can have a huge impact and play a role in shaping our culture.
We’re a certified B Corporation tackling a critical social problem. Our mission to help people in need drives everything we do, and your work here will touch many lives.
We offer competitive pay — including equity — and generous benefits:
Medical and dental insurance with 100% of employee premiums covered
15 vacation days & ~20 paid holidays each year (including two weeks at end-of-year)
Free membership to OneMedical
$600/year reimbursable stipend for internet service
$1,000 reimbursable stipend for education and training outside of work
Up to $1,200/year student loan repayment assistance
401(k) and optional HSA/FSA
Humble, thoughtful, smart, fun colleagues
We anticipate the base salary band for this role will be between $145,000 to $180,000 in addition to equity and benefits. The salary at offer will be determined by a number of factors such as candidate’s experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity among our team.
LocationThis job is fully remote and we’re committed to empowering everyone with flexibility. Work remotely, and travel to LA (on the company dime) as needed to be with your colleagues – usually quarterly, plus offsites. We care a lot about building a great culture and we think some interactions need to happen in person, so we put a lot of thought into retreats, offsites, and other ways to gather.
