Job SummaryThe Clinical Application Specialist/Field Application Specialist (FAS) plays a critical role in driving customer adoption and utilization of the Cell and Gene Therapy (CGT) Technologies portfolio. Using a working understanding of the portfolio's capabilities, customization options, and operational best practices, the FAS gains knowledge of customer manufacturing processes and technical requirements to help customers successfully integrate solutions into their operations. Acting as a primary technical resource for customers, the FAS provides application support throughout the customer lifecycle, starting with pre-sale product demonstrations and continuing through post-sale implementation, training, troubleshooting, and ongoing application support. The FAS generates initial proposals, then refines them with the assistance of internal subject-matter experts prior to sharing with customers. Working in partnership with the Account Executive role and cross-functional teams including Business Development, Technical Application Support, Field Service, Quality, Marketing, and Product Management, the FAS provides the technical expertise needed to support customer acquisition, retention, utilization, growth, and revenue objectives. The role serves as a key channel for customer feedback that supports continuous improvement of products, services, and commercialization strategies.

Salary Range: $80,000-$90,000 based on experience
• Position is eligible to participate in a bonus plan with a target of 6% of the base salary (include only if applicable to the grade level)
• Final pay determinations will depend on various factors, including, but not limited to experience level, education, knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Responsibilities

Owns customer application support for the CGT Technologies portfolio within assigned territory.

Maintains working knowledge of the CGT Technologies portfolio.

Collects and assesses customer unit operation requirements and designs customized protocols with assistance and review from internal subject-matter experts.

Plans and conducts pre-sale demonstrations at customer sites, including experimental design, logistics, execution, data collection, and communication of results, with assistance and review from internal subject-matter experts.

Leads post-sale implementations by aligning customer performance expectations with protocol design, planning and delivering training, and supporting customers through protocol testing, data review, and optimization, with assistance and review from internal subject-matter experts.

Leads troubleshooting activities by collecting relevant information, coordinating technical analysis, reviewing findings, and communicating conclusions and recommended actions to customers, with assistance and review from internal subject-matter experts.

Leads ongoing application support and relationship development through regular customer engagement to identify and address issues and provide customer-specific guidance on how new applications and products can integrate into existing technical operations and create value.

Maintains current knowledge of customers' manufacturing processes, product applications, implementation status, technical issues, and planned changes.

Partners with the Account Executive role to provide the application support needed to achieve annual objectives related to customer acquisition, utilization, retention, growth, and revenue. Identifies opportunities to increase product utilization, expand applications, introduce additional offerings, and support additional instrument placements.

Documents customer activities, protocols, product feedback, training, troubleshooting, technical decisions, and follow-up actions in applicable company systems, including the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system.

Builds strong customer relationships and collaborates with the Account Executive role, Business Development, Field Service, Technical Application Support, Quality, Marketing, Product Management, internal subject-matter experts, and other stakeholders.

Represents the company at customer meetings, conferences, workshops, and other business events as needed.

Travels as required to support customers and business objectives.

Participates in any and all reasonable work activities as assigned by management.

Requirements

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Biomedical Sciences, or  related scientific field;
  • 3+ years of experience in Cell and Gene Therapy, biotechnology, biopharmaceutical manufacturing, medical devices, or a related field.
  • Hands-on cell culture, cell processing, or cell therapy manufacturing experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Comfortable delivering customer training, product demonstrations, technical presentations, and public speaking engagements.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems.
  • Willingness to travel up to 50%.
  • The Company’s primary business language is English. The successful candidate must be able to effectively speak, read, write, and understand English to perform the essential functions of the position, including independently understanding policies, procedures, training materials, and workplace communications written in English due to our heavily regulated work environment.
