What We Need:

Our Quality Management team plays a critical role in protecting patients by investigating safety events, identifying opportunities for improvement, and ensuring our processes meet the highest standards of quality and compliance. The Clinical Quality Analyst is responsible for reviewing, investigating, prioritizing, and coordinating patient safety events, quality-of-care concerns, complaints, grievances, adverse events, and product-related incidents across the organization.

This position partners closely with Clinical Operations, Compliance, Supplier Partners, and Leadership to evaluate patient safety risks, investigate quality concerns, determine appropriate escalation pathways, and support regulatory reporting and continuous quality improvement initiatives. This is not a traditional auditing role. The ideal candidate approaches investigations with a patient safety mindset, demonstrates strong clinical judgment, and is passionate about improving healthcare quality and patient outcomes.

What You Will Do:

Patient Safety & Quality Investigations

  • Review and triage patient safety events, complaints, grievances, recalls, adverse events, and quality-of-care concerns.
  • Conduct thorough investigations by gathering documentation and collaborating with internal teams, providers, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
  • Evaluate events for potential patient harm, regulatory impact, and required escalation.
  • Perform root cause analyses to identify contributing factors and recommend opportunities for improvement.
  • Maintain complete, accurate, and timely documentation throughout each investigation.

Risk Assessment & Escalation

  • Assess and prioritize cases based on severity, urgency, patient risk, and regulatory requirements.
  • Escalate high-risk patient safety concerns to Quality Management, Clinical Leadership, Compliance, and executive stakeholders as appropriate.
  • Monitor escalated events through resolution and ensure corrective actions are completed.
  • Support reporting requirements for adverse events and other reportable incidents.
  • Participate in a rotating on-call schedule to provide after-hours, weekend, and holiday coverage for patient safety events, quality-of-care concerns, and other urgent quality issues. Ensure timely triage, investigation, escalation, and resolution of patient safety events while supporting continuity of Quality Management operations.

Quality Improvement & Regulatory Compliance

  • Analyze quality trends to identify systemic opportunities for improvement.
  • Participate in Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) initiatives.
  • Support Quality Assurance Performance Improvement (QAPI) activities.
  • Assist with accreditation readiness and ongoing compliance with CMS DMEPOS
  • Quality Standards, ACHC, FDA, and organizational policies.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to strengthen patient safety processes and improve care outcomes.

Note: These responsibilities reflect the general nature and scope of the role but are not exhaustive. Responsibilities may evolve to meet changing business needs.

What You Have:

At Synapse Health, we’ve intentionally built a culture rooted in kindness, collaboration, and creativity, qualities we consider essential for every team member. Additional requirements include:

  • Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Nursing, Public Health, Quality Management, Patient Safety, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Three or more years of experience in healthcare quality, patient safety, clinical operations, case management, compliance, DMEPOS, or a related healthcare environment.
  • Experience investigating complaints, grievances, adverse events, quality-of-care concerns, or patient safety events.
  • Strong critical thinking, analytical, and investigative skills.
  • Excellent written documentation and communication skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple investigations.
  • Experience interpreting healthcare regulations and quality standards.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Clinical licensure (RN, LPN, RT, PT, OT) strongly preferred.
  • Experience in hospital quality, patient safety, clinical risk management, or healthcare quality improvement.
  • Knowledge of CMS DMEPOS Quality Standards, ACHC accreditation standards, FDA reporting requirements, and healthcare regulatory compliance.
  • Experience with Root Cause Analysis (RCA), CAPA, and QAPI initiatives
  • Experience working within quality management or incident reporting systems.

What Sets You Apart:

  • Sound clinical judgment
  • Strong investigative and analytical skills
  • Curiosity and a root-cause mindset
  • Attention to detail
  • Accountability and integrity
  • Excellent communication and collaboration
  • Ability to make thoughtful decisions in complex situations
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and patient-centered care

Compensation:

The base salary range for this position is $62,400 to 78,000 annually. This range reflects the anticipated compensation at the time of posting.
