The Opportunity:

CACI is seeking a Cloud/DevOps Exploitation Specialist to build, secure, assess, and evolve the AWS environment that supports continuous attack-surface operations. This hands-on role combines advanced Terraform and Ansible engineering. The role also validates cloud identity/authorization paths, supply-chain vulnerabilities, and CI/CD exploitation scenarios. The specialist will make assessment infrastructure repeatable, and version controlled while also validating cloud and DevOps attack paths within approved scope.

This position will provide continuous technical assessment support for full‑time, proactive testing of externally and internally visible federal cyber assets. This expands federal visibility by conducting continual assessments of .gov domains, subdomains, and internet‑facing assets to uncover unknown exposures, validate vulnerabilities, and provide agencies with actionable remediation guidance. This role supports the Continuous Diagnostics and Mitigation (CDM) Program’s mission to safeguard and secure cyberspace in an environment where the threat of cyber-attack is continuously growing and evolving and is responsible for enhancing the security, resilience, and reliability of the Nation’s cyber and communications infrastructure.  The CDM Program defends the United States (U.S.) Federal Information Technology (IT) networks from cybersecurity threats by providing continuous monitoring sensors (tools), diagnosis, mitigation tools, and associated services to strengthen the security posture of Government networks.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and maintain AWS network, IAM, compute, storage, data, logging, and security services using reusable Terraform modules and Ansible automation.
  • Operate secure version-control, review, testing, state-management, secrets-management, approval, deployment, rollback, and change-audit processes for infrastructure as code.
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines that deploy assessment infrastructure and integrate IaC, secrets, dependency, container, registry, SAST, DAST, and vulnerability scanning.
  • Assess AWS, CI/CD, container, registry, Kubernetes, and IaC configurations for exploitable weaknesses; safely validate privilege escalation, lateral movement, supply-chain, and data-exposure paths when authorized.
  • Test Kubernetes/EKS governance, service account privilege escalation, and container breakout vectors.
  • Investigate IaC misconfigurations by exploiting tfsec/Checkov findings to demonstrate realistic attack feasibility.
  • Harden and monitor assessment infrastructure while preserving the flexibility required for scanning, reconnaissance, controlled exploitation, and rapid response.
  • Develop Python, Bash, PowerShell automation, APIs, and operational tooling; maintain architecture diagrams, runbooks, module documentation, and recovery procedures.
  • Partner with Attack Surface Testing engineers and customer platform owners to troubleshoot issues, control cost and performance, and deliver secure, repeatable technical capabilities.

Qualifications:
Required:

  • U.S. citizenship is required.
  • The selected candidate must meet eligibility requirements for access to sensitive information and be able to obtain a Public Trust fitness determination (High Risk).
  • Ability to work in customer-provided remote environments, use customer-approved tools, and comply with rules of engagement, data-handling requirements, evidence controls, deconfliction procedures, and stop-work criteria.
  • Five or more years of cloud, DevOps, DevSecOps, platform-engineering, or cloud-security experience, including at least three years of hands-on AWS and infrastructure-as-code work.
  • Advanced practical experience with Terraform and Ansible in version-controlled production environments, including modules, remote state, secrets, testing, approvals, and repeatable deployment.
  • Strong knowledge of AWS IAM, VPC/networking, EC2/compute, S3/storage, KMS, CloudTrail/logging, serverless, container, and data-service security.
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD and container ecosystems such as GitLab CI, GitHub Actions, Jenkins, Docker, Kubernetes/EKS, and ECR or comparable tools.
  • Experience with security testing tools such as Checkov/tfsec, Trivy/Grype, Prowler/ScoutSuite, Semgrep, SAST/DAST, secrets scanning, and cloud-native security services.
  • Strong Linux, networking, Git, and scripting skills in Python, Bash, or PowerShell.

Desired:

  • AWS Certified Security – Specialty, AWS Solutions Architect/DevOps Professional, HashiCorp Terraform Associate, CKS/CKA, GCSA, or comparable credentials.
  • Experience building short-lived or segmented offensive-security/assessment infrastructure with strong auditability and teardown controls.
  • Experience exploiting IAM, CI/CD, container, registry, Kubernetes, serverless, metadata-service, or IaC weaknesses in authorized assessments.
  • Experience with policy as code, OPA/Conftest, SBOM, software-supply-chain controls, observability, and cost/performance optimization.
  • Federal cloud, FedRAMP, GovCloud, DHS/CISA, or high-assurance environment experience
