The College Pastor will lead and develop college ministry, recruiting leaders, and creating environments for students to know and serve Jesus while implementing growth strategies.
Position Description
The College Pastor is passionate about seeing college students and other 18-23 year olds come to know Jesus, grow in Him, and serve Him. He/She is a proactive, experienced leader who will set vision, recruit and equip leaders, and grow Austin Ridge’s College Ministry.
Responsibilities
- Create a balanced ministry through developing a variety of environments for college students to come to know, grow, and serve Jesus.
- Develop and implement strategies, budgets, and goals for growing the ministry.
- Develop an effective strategy for reaching students on UT Campus and other colleges in Austin.
- Lead volunteers by casting vision, creating goals, and equipping them to lead in their areas of influence.
- Create content for weekly small group gatherings, coordinate social events, and strategically plan retreats targeting college students.
- Work alongside the Young Adult Pastor to ensure an effective transition from College ministry to Young Adult ministry or the body life of ARBC.
- Participant in other ministry duties as determined by the Lead, Executive, and Ministries Pastors.
QualificationsQualifications
- Mature, growing disciple of Jesus
- Meets the spiritual qualifications found in I Timothy, Titus, and I Peter
- Possesses a B.A. or equivalent
- Exhibits a missional lifestyle and mindset
- Demonstrates a passion for making disciples
- Passionate about evangelism
- Enthusiasm for making disciples and ministering to college students
- Understands effective approaches to College ministry
- Self-motivated, strategic thinker
- Capable and engaging teacher
- Influential team leader with strong interpersonal skills
- Capable team leader and multiplier of people
- Cultural fit with the Ridge
