Role Overview

ELB Learning is seeking a senior-level Commercial Deal Desk Manager to help move customer transactions from commercial alignment through to signed contracts.

This is a hands-on, deal-driving role sitting at the intersection of Sales, Legal, and Operations. You will own the contracting flow end-to-end — ensuring deals progress smoothly from request to signature without unnecessary delays or friction.

You will work across SaaS, professional services, and hybrid deals, using approved templates and legal playbooks to structure agreements, manage redlines, and coordinate stakeholders.

This is not a legal drafting role or passive contract admin role. It requires someone who can actively drive deals forward, push back when needed, and keep momentum across multiple stakeholders.

What You’ll Be DoingDeal Ownership & Coordination
  • Own deals from contracting request through execution

  • Treat each deal like a project with clear next steps and dependencies

  • Keep deals moving through proactive follow-ups and stakeholder alignment

  • Identify blockers early and resolve or escalate appropriately

Contracting Execution
  • Prepare and tailor contracts using approved templates (MSAs, SOWs, order forms, amendments)

  • Assemble full contract packages including DPAs, security exhibits, and AI terms

  • Review and respond to redlines using approved fallback positions

  • Escalate non-standard or high-risk items to Legal with context

Sales & Stakeholder Support
  • Partner closely with Sales to ensure deals progress efficiently

  • Push back on incomplete or unclear inputs where needed

  • Help translate commercial intent into workable contract structures

Procurement & Internal Coordination
  • Manage customer procurement and onboarding requirements

  • Coordinate across Legal, Finance, Security, and Sales

  • Maintain visibility of deal status and next steps

Process & Operational Ownership
  • Maintain and improve contracting decision frameworks and routing rules

  • Keep Deal Builder inputs and legal checklists current

  • Own contracting playbooks and update fallback positions over time

  • Identify process gaps and feed improvements back to Legal

Who This Role Is For
  • A senior contracts professional who thrives in fast-moving deal environments

  • Someone who is direct, practical, and easy to work with

  • Comfortable balancing structure with flexibility

  • Strong operator who takes ownership of outcomes, not just tasks

  • Someone who improves systems while working within them

  • Comfortable working in environments where priorities shift quickly

  • Confident engaging Sales and Legal with equal ease

Required Qualifications
  • Experience in sell-side B2B contracting (SaaS, tech, or professional services preferred)

  • Strong experience working with Legal or within a contracts function

  • End-to-end ownership of commercial deals through to signature

  • Experience reviewing and negotiating contract redlines

  • Strong judgment on escalation vs independent decision-making

  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills

  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail

  • Comfortable working in AI-assisted workflows (Claude, ChatGPT, etc.)

  • Open to contributing to improving AI-enabled contracting processes

Preferred Experience
  • SaaS, technology, or professional services background

  • Experience with MSAs, SOWs, DPAs, order forms, renewals

  • Experience in lean legal environments with high autonomy

  • Exposure to deal desk, revenue operations, or contracting operations

Success Metrics
  • Deals move efficiently from request to signature

  • Reduced friction and fewer last-minute escalations

  • Strong alignment between Sales and Legal

  • Legal team freed to focus on high-risk matters

  • Contracts reflect practical, business-aligned terms

  • Contracting systems and playbooks remain current and operational over time
