YOUR MISSION

We are seeking a strategic Compensation Manager to build and scale True Anomaly's total rewards programs as we grow. You will design compensation frameworks, job architecture, and equity structures that attract and retain top talent in the competitive aerospace and defense market. This role requires deep expertise in both cash and equity compensation, with a proven ability to balance market competitiveness, internal equity, and regulatory compliance. You will serve as a trusted advisor to leadership on all compensation matters, from business development incentive design to pay equity analysis, while ensuring adherence to evolving pay transparency and reporting requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Compensation Strategy & Framework Design:
    • Design and implement a scalable total compensation framework (base, bonus, equity) aligned with job architecture and leveling that supports True Anomaly's growth
    • Partner with leadership to develop compensation philosophies and strategies that drive talent acquisition, retention, and performance
    • Conduct market benchmarking and competitive analysis to ensure programs remain competitive within the aerospace and defense industry
    • Design and manage incentive compensation plans, including business development commission structures and performance-based bonus programs
  • Compensation Planning & Analytics:
    • Lead annual compensation cycles including merit, promotions, bonuses, and equity refreshes
    • Build analytics capabilities to provide data-driven insights and conduct pay equity analyses across protected classes
    • Partner with Talent Acquisition on competitive offer strategies and provide scenario modeling for compensation decisions
  • Equity Program Management:
    • Design and administer equity programs that balance market competitiveness, dilution management, and employee value
    • Partner with Finance and Legal on equity administration, grant processes, and compliance
    • Educate employees and leadership on equity mechanics, valuation, vesting, and tax implications
  • Compliance & Pay Transparency:
    • Lead pay transparency initiatives and ensure compliance with salary posting, disclosure, and reporting requirements (EEO-1, pay data submissions, etc.)
    • Stay current on evolving legislation and maintain compensation policies and documentation

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 7-10+ years of progressive compensation experience, with at least 3-5 years in a compensation leadership or senior individual contributor role
  • Expert-level knowledge of equity compensation including stock options, RSUs, and common stock structures
  • Deep understanding of compensation regulations including FLSA, pay equity laws, and pay transparency requirements
  • Proven experience designing and implementing scalable compensation frameworks in high-growth environments
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in compensation analysis, market benchmarking, and statistical modeling
  • Experience with compensation compliance reporting and pay equity audits
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and drive initiatives from concept to implementation

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) or similar certification (CBP, GRP, CEP)
  • Experience in technology, startup, or high-growth company environments
  • Knowledge of equity administration platforms (Carta, Shareworks, E*TRADE, etc.)
  • Proficiency with HRIS systems and compensation survey tools (Rippling, Pave, Radford)
  • Advanced Excel skills and experience with data visualization tools
  • Experience working with equity across multiple stages of company growth (seed through IPO)

COMPENSATION

  • Base Salary: $140,000-190,000
  • Equity + Benefits including Health, Dental, Vision, HRA/HSA options, PTO and paid holidays, 401K, Parental Leave
