Competitive Intelligence Analyst

As a Competitive Intelligence Analyst at Independence Pet Holdings, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the world of pet insurance, as part of a growing Product Management organization. With a rapidly evolving pet insurance market, competitor intelligence is the backbone of how to strategically place ourselves in the best spot in the market. The Competitor Intelligence Analyst will be the go-to expert on industry trends, competitor strategies and performance as well as market dynamics.  This role is essential to the Product Management team for us to build innovative products, create informed pricing strategies and proactively respond to competitor activities.

Role activities that will make an impact

  • Actively monitor and analyze competitor product offerings, pricing structures, underwriting rules, coverage features, and promotions.

  • Translate complex data and research into clear, actionable insights for Product, Pricing, Marketing, Underwriting, and Business stakeholders.

  • Track regulatory and industry shifts that influence product competitiveness and customer expectations

  • Establish a systematic process for ongoing competitor audits and intelligence gathering.

  • Build and maintain dashboards, competitive matrices, and insight repositories to create a repository of competitor reports and earnings results.

  • Create a cadence of monthly and/or quarterly competitive landscape reports highlighting trends, risks and opportunities

  • Partner closely with Product Managers to identify differentiation opportunities and refine product roadmaps.

 

What we want you to bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent work experience
  • 3+ years in competitive intelligence, market research, product analysis, or related roles
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to connect signals into meaningful, strategic narratives
  • Proven ability to turn data into insights, with experience using tools such as Excel, Power BI/Tableau or other data visualization tools
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present findings to all different backgrounds, skill-levels and positions within the company
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and adapt to a fast-paced, evolving environment
  • Experience in Pet Insurance and/or P&C insurance and familiarity with competitor tools like SERFF, Rate Filings or S&P Global is preferred
