What you'll be responsible for:
In this role, you will perform independent second-line testing and ongoing monitoring activities to help assess the design and operational effectiveness of key compliance controls. You will contribute to identifying control gaps, evaluating compliance risk, and supporting remediation efforts by working closely with partners across the business.
What you'll work on:
  • Plan, scope, execute, and document risk-based compliance testing reviews and regulatory issue validation activities
  • Assess the design and operating effectiveness of compliance controls across AML, BSA, Sanctions, and enterprise programs, including testing across multiple international jurisdictions where Circle is licensed
  • Identify findings, support root cause analysis, and assist with assigning risk ratings in line with internal guidelines
  • Draft clear testing documentation, reports, and remediation recommendations for stakeholder review
  • Partner with program owners and subject matter experts to track remediation actions and validate closure of control gaps
  • Support ongoing enhancements to compliance testing processes, methodologies, and reporting by taking initiative, iterating on feedback, and moving work forward efficiently

What you'll bring to Circle:
Core Requirements:
  • 7+ years of relevant experience in a compliance role involving testing, governance, internal audit, or a related discipline
  • Experience planning, executing, and reporting on compliance testing reviews and regulatory issue validation activities across AML, BSA, Sanctions, and enterprise compliance programs
  • Familiarity with second-line test planning, control design assessments, control operating effectiveness testing, transactional testing, and compliance reporting requirements
  • Strong communication, planning, presentation, and project management skills
  • Excellent ability to investigate, analyze, and interpret data
  • A results-oriented mindset with the ability to think strategically and execute effectively
  • Familiarity with generative AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Gemini) and prompt development

Preferred Requirements:
  • B.A./B.S. degree; quantitative or technical degree preferred.
  • CAMS, CFCS or CFE certification.
  • Passion for harnessing the power of digital currency, blockchain technology and services built on top of it.
  • Experience working with blockchain forensic tools (e.g., TRM Labs, Chainalysis, Elliptic).
  • Experience collaborating in remote-first environments using tools such as Slack, GSuite, and macOS

Starting pay is determined by various factors, including but not limited to: relevant experience, skill set, qualifications, and other business and organizational needs. Please note that compensation ranges may differ for candidates in other locations.
Base Pay Range: $140,000 - $185,000
