About the Role

As a Compliance Risk Analyst at TabaPay, you will play an important role in supporting the client onboarding process by performing customer due diligence, regulatory verification, and operational compliance reviews. You will work closely with Senior Compliance Managers to ensure prospective clients meet TabaPay's regulatory, Partner Bank, and Payment Network requirements. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced fintech environment. This is an individual contributor role reporting to the Director of Client Due Diligence.

What You'll Do

  • Manage the intake, organization, and tracking of client onboarding documentation.
  • Review onboarding packages for completeness and identify missing information or documentation.
  • Verify regulatory licenses, registrations, and public records relevant to prospective clients.
  • Perform entity and individual verification, sanctions screening, ownership validation, and other required onboarding checks using internal and third-party compliance tools.
  • Investigate, document, and resolve verification and screening exceptions in accordance with established procedures, escalating higher-risk or complex findings as appropriate.
  • Complete Payment Network screening requirements, including MATCH inquiries and required network registrations.
  • Review client websites, applications, marketing materials, and customer-facing disclosures for compliance with Card Network Rules, Partner Bank requirements, and internal onboarding standards.
  • Maintain complete and accurate client files, onboarding records, and supporting documentation throughout the onboarding lifecycle.
  • Support Senior Compliance Managers by preparing client files, gathering required information, and ensuring onboarding packages are complete for compliance review.
  • Contribute to the maintenance and continuous improvement of Standard Operating Procedures, job aids, and onboarding documentation.
  • Partner with internal stakeholders to support an efficient, accurate, and compliant onboarding experience.

Who You Are

  • 1 to 4 years of experience in Underwriting, Compliance, Risk, Merchant Acquiring, financial services, fintech, or a related industry.
  • Experience supporting customer due diligence, identity verification, sanctions screening, merchant onboarding, or similar operational compliance processes.
  • Familiarity with verifying regulatory licenses, business registrations, and public records.
  • Experience working within established Standard Operating Procedures and contributing to process documentation and continuous improvement.
  • Experience using identity verification, screening, case management, or workflow platforms such as Persona, Jira, Zendesk, or similar tools.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and investigative skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy and meeting established service levels.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Criminal Justice, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity with Merchant Acquiring, Payment Facilitators, payment processors, or other regulated financial services.
  • Working knowledge of Visa and Mastercard Rules and merchant onboarding requirements.
  • Experience supporting payment industry compliance, underwriting, or operational risk teams.
  • ACAMS, CAFP, or other relevant compliance or payments industry certification.

The pay range for this position is $115,000 for base pay for local Palo Alto candidates. The pay range for this position for remote candidates in the US is $100,000.

Base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. In addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits as listed below, dependent on the position offered.
