This candidate will support configuration management activities focused on maintaining secure, consistent, and well-governed system configurations across client environments. Additionally, this role will help establish and maintain configuration baselines, monitor compliance, identify configuration-related risks, and support efforts to reduce exposure from unauthorized or insecure changes. This position calls for strong attention to detail, familiarity with secure configuration practices, and the ability to work across teams to improve governance, documentation, and operational consistency.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and support configuration management policies, procedures, and standards
- Help establish and manage secure configuration baselines across supported environments
- Ensure configuration changes are documented, tracked, reviewed, and auditable
- Monitor configuration compliance using approved tools and reporting mechanisms
- Identify and help resolve configuration-related issues, gaps, and risks
- Support hardening efforts for systems, platforms, and services
- Work with technical stakeholders to align system configurations with organizational and security requirements
- Assist with compliance reporting, dashboard updates, and supporting evidence collection
- Contribute to process improvement and automation efforts related to configuration compliance and governance
- Support documentation development, knowledge management, and standard operating procedures
Job Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in configuration management, systems administration, security operations, or related technical work
- Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field; or equivalent experience
- Experience working with system baselines, change control, and secure configuration practices
- Experience using vulnerability scanning and assessment tools such as Tenable/Nessus
- Familiarity with Windows, Linux, cloud, and enterprise infrastructure environments
- Familiarity with DISA STIGs, CIS Benchmarks, and security hardening concepts
- Experience using configuration, compliance, or systems management tools
- Ability to identify configuration drift, noncompliance, and related operational risk
- Strong documentation skills and ability to support audits or compliance efforts
- Ability to collaborate effectively across technical and non-technical stakeholders
Preferred Certifications
CASP, GSEC, GSLC, CISSP, CEH, CISM, CISA, PMI-ACP, SAFe Agilist, CSM, or comparable certifications
