Conflicts Analyst

Department: Office of General Counsel

Reports To: Director of Conflicts Analysis & Resolution

Location: Austin

FLSA: Non-Exempt

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Conflicts Analyst is responsible for supporting the Firm’s new business intake and conflicts resolution processes. This role ensures accurate and timely processing of client and matter information, conducts conflict searches, and assists in identifying and resolving potential conflicts of interest in compliance with professional conduct rules. The Conflicts Analyst collaborates closely with attorneys and staff to support efficient and compliant business intake operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Conflicts Analysis & Intake

  • Perform conflict searches and assist in obtaining clearance of conflicts.
  • Process new client and matter intake requests and update the conflicts database.
  • Review submitted client and matter information for accuracy and completeness.
  • Identify potential conflicts of interest using the Firm’s conflicts database and escalate issues as appropriate.
  • Generate and analyze conflicts reports to support conflicts review and resolution.

Lateral Hiring & Due Diligence

  • Conduct conflicts searches for lateral attorney and non-legal hires.
  • Support lateral hiring due diligence, including data intake and preparation of conflicts reports.
  • Organize and categorize conflicts results to facilitate efficient review.

Data Management & Compliance

  • Maintain detailed records of conflicts searches, analyses, and resolutions for audit and documentation purposes.
  • Ensure compliance with Firm policies and procedures related to conflicts of interest.
  • Assist in reviewing conflicts requests submitted through the conflicts system for accuracy and completeness.

Collaboration & Communication

  • Communicate effectively with attorneys, staff, and team members regarding conflicts inquiries and status updates.
  • Escalate issues in a timely and appropriate manner.
  • Collaborate with team members to support process improvements, best practices, and departmental initiatives.
  • Provide support on team projects and other assignments as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or GED required, bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience required; law firm experience in conflicts or business intake preferred.
  • Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft 365, particularly Word and Outlook.
  • Experience with document management systems (iManage preferred).
  • Experience with Intapp, Capital IQ, or similar systems is a plus.
