About the role:

NOTE: Proven experience with Market Access is required for this position. This includes knowledge of navigating medication reimbursement systems, experience engaging with payers and regulatory bodies, and using research to communicate the evidence-based value of a drug to healthcare decision-makers.

As Consultant II, Advisory Strategy –Access Marketing, you hold a dedicated and unique role that is responsible for leading subject matter expertise in an agency of record capacity.  As a key member of our cross-discipline Access Marketing offering, this role seeks a strategy contributor who is deeply hands-on, balancing the macro picture with the micro details. 

What you'll do:

  • Serve as subject matter expert on market/patient access strategy to support pipeline and inline assets in maximizing and communicating brand value for agency clients; expertise sought includes but is not limited to coverage, coding, and payment across commercial and public payers; pricing and contracting; distributors and specialty pharmacies; field team design and deployment; and patient support services 
  • Lead, contribute, and support the analysis of qualitative and quantitative research relating to market/patient access stakeholders and derive meaningful insights  
  • Partner across Access Marketing’s micro-strategy disciplines, including equipping brand strategists with the insights, data, and evidence that will then support the development of market/patient access stakeholder personas/archetypes, strategy maps, brand plans, positioning, brand identity strategy, creative briefs, and messaging strategy among other critical strategic elements  
  • Lead teams in developing and delivering strategic advisory projects within AOR relationship 
  • Contribute to the ideation and execution of access marketing solutions, tactics, and activations that amplify brand performance  
  • Design, lead, and support workshops, training meetings, launch meetings, and other key events on behalf of access marketing clients, including direct development of materials  
  • Integrate seamlessly and maintain fluency between Advisory and Marketing disciplines within a matrixed organization 
  • Deliver thought leadership, publish articles, contribute to podcasts, and keep pulse on key market events that would impact market/patient access stakeholder attitudes, behavior, and perceptions    
  • Contribute to the growth of the Access Marketing offer by developing strategy for RFPs and identifying organic growth/new business development opportunities 
  • Conceptualize Access Marketing project scope for clients, support assembling a cross-functional team, and oversee project initiation through to client delivery for strategy that supports agency partnerships  
  • Partner collaboratively with account, medical, and creative team members on the delivery of insights, subjective matter expertise, and strategy  
  • Provide training, supervising, and mentorship to junior team members  
  • Be flexible with travel up to 10-20% of time as needed  

About you:

  • Bachelor's degree required; Master’s degree preferred in related field (public health, public policy, marketing, business administration)  
  • 5+ years of relevant market/patient access experience 
  • In-depth experience with market/patient access subject matter expertise, insights generation, and developing strategy, including across pre-launch, launch, mature, and portfolio brands 
  • Ability to establish personal credibility as a strategic reimbursement/access expert with clients 
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and cross-discipline environment with a proactive mindset  
  • Highly skilled as an interdisciplinary thinker, strategic problem-solver, and focused business leader 
  • Curious strategist who keeps abreast of everchanging healthcare landscape and encourages clients to challenge the status quo   
  • Seamlessly skillful in balancing the need for both collaboration and independent work  
  • Commitment to working in a team environment with an emphasis on collaboration and maintaining positive relationships with colleagues and clients 
  • Proven track record in inspiring teams, situational leadership, as well as upholding the organization’s culture  
  • Crisp and persuasive communications skills, both written and verbal 
  • Comfortable leading and working under pressure with tight deadlines, across both inline client work and pipeline new business development work  
  • Exceptional and reliable organizational skills
