About this role

We’re looking for a sharp, strategic, and results-driven Business Development and Partnerships Manager, to help support the growth of Udemy’s direct-to-consumer (D2C) ecosystem through impactful partnerships. This is an individual contributor role ideal for someone who will execute Udemy’s global D2C partnership strategy, driving distribution, revenue, engagement, and retention. Working closely with senior leadership and cross-functional teams including Product, Design, Engineering, Marketing, Legal, Finance, and Data, you'll contribute to partnership initiatives that boosts distribution of Udemy’s world class AI-powered upskilling platform, drives revenue growth, and directly impacts millions of learners worldwide. You’ll work cross-functionally with internal teams and external partners to deliver high-impact initiatives that align with Udemy’s mission to transform lives through learning.


What you’ll be doing  

  • Support and contribute to global D2C partnership strategy development with senior leadership guidance
  • Execute key components of the partnership lifecycle including ideation, partner outreach, evaluation, negotiation support, onboarding, and post-launch performance monitoring
  • Collaborate cross-functionally across Product, Design, Engineering, Marketing, Legal, Finance, and Data teams to vet and obtain partnership support requirements and ensure partnership success
  • Assist in conducting market analysis and staying ahead of emerging trends (e.g., AI personalization, mobile-first behaviors) that impact partnership opportunities
  • Track partnership outcomes, analyze performance metrics, and support reporting to senior leadership on partnership-driven growth
  • Support relationship management with partners across target verticals including career services platforms, online communities, distribution ecosystems, universities, and government organizations

What you’ll have

  • 5-8 years of experience in business development, strategic partnerships, or platform growth roles—preferably within consumer tech, streaming, mobile, edtech, or online learning industries
  • Demonstrated ability to support successful partnership initiatives and contribute to high-impact deals with consumer brands, platforms, or distributors
  • Strong analytical and financial modeling skills with experience using data to drive partnership decisions
  • Solid negotiation abilities and relationship-building skills
  • Data-driven, detail-oriented approach with familiarity with metrics like LTV and CAC
  • Comfort working in ambiguous environments with strong proactive problem-solving capabilities
  • Understanding of consumer behavior and platform monetization strategies
  • Solid interpersonal and communication skills with experience in cross-functional collaboration. 
  • Prior relationships with strategic partners in relevant verticals are a plus.

Actual compensation for this role is based on several factors, including but not limited to job-related skills, qualifications, experience, and specific work location due to differences in the cost of labor. In addition to a base salary, this role is also eligible for equity.

Hiring Compensation Range
$112,000$140,000 USD
