What will you be doing and learning?
The Content Management- Production & Permissions Internship will provide a general introduction to support for Learning Resource Group workflows. This internship role will be divided in three sections to highlight the different, yet integrated, workflows:

Production

In this internship, you will learn aspects of both print and digital production work, including project setup with vendors, the conventions of print and digital design (Cascading Style Sheet, “CSS”), the editorial and documentation styles we enforce, production workflows and tools, and scheduling. You may be asked to help with the following tasks: copyediting or proofreading small portions of content, checking covers, triaging corrections from multiple parties, reviewing ePub or print samples, reviewing printer pages, or helping to update or improve documentation. 

Permissions

In this portion of the internship, you will learn about permission, design and illustration workflows. You will provide assistance with licensing, invoice processing, proof checks, permission research, license follow ups, asset metadata checks, line art accessibility checks, asset archiving, AI creation. (Note: Many of these workflows require extensive data entry and reporting with various platforms--- rights system, digital repositories (Digital Asset Management, “DAM”/Content Management System, “CMS”), Jira, Slack, invoice payment system, “xflow”.)

Digital Content Management Systems
In this internship you will learn about content management systems, various metadata, publishing workflows. You'll learn about the Agile development of system improvements.  You will be trained on how to Quality Checks of metadata and see a project through the archival process. You will manage Jira tickets for the archival tasks and work with a vendor. You may be asked to help remediate metadata on assets already stored in our Digital Asset Management, “DAM” system. You may work on asset migration projects, as we support users storage and workflows within our systems.
Skills / Knowledge:

  • You must be enrolled in a degreed program (i.e. Bachelor’s, Master’s, etc).
  •  We will accept applicants graduating from their degree in Spring 2026.
  • Recent graduates within the last 6 months will be considered.

This is an on-site internship that requires being in the Boston, MA office. This internship is eligible for remote participation, excluding the following locations: Alaska, Arkansas, California, Connecticut, Washington DC, Hawaii, Illinois, Mississippi, Nevada, New York, South Dakota, Washington State, West Virginia, Wyoming.
