Who is Rainforest?

Rainforest is an early stage payments-as-a-service startup that has developed a solution that makes monetizing payments for vertically focused software platforms fair and simple.

We focus on small-to-mid sized platforms that want to add value to their small business customers through embedded payments — and want to do so without adding operational or regulatory burdens or costs.

Led by a successful repeat fintech founder with deep knowledge of the industry, and with venture backing from a Top 10 VC firm, Rainforest is well positioned to make an impact in the payments-as-a-service space, and we're looking for new team members who want to be a part of this journey!

What are we looking for?

We're hiring a Content Marketing Manager to find the story in our data and tell it. You'll write our annual Vertical SaaS Embedded Payments Benchmarking Study and keep its findings working all year. You'll also build the presentations and keynotes our executives take on stage. This role requires comfort with data and the communication skill to make an audience care about it, in words and in visuals.

You don’t have to run the data analysis (unless you want to). You'll take analyzed data and decide what's interesting, what story we want to tell, and how the data proves it.

This is our second content marketing role. You'll work closely with our Content & Communications Manager, who owns social media, podcast, email marketing, and PR, as well as our Product Marketing Manager and Designer.

What are some of the high-impact opportunities you'll tackle?
  • Write our annual Vertical SaaS Embedded Payments Benchmarking Study. You'll take the analyzed data, find the story, and write the report.

  • Get the most out of everything we publish. Turn the benchmarking study and other big pieces into articles, guides, interactive tools, social content, and campaigns long after launch day. Know where each piece should go and how to get it in front of more of the right people to maximize reach and impact.

  • Find and tell other data-driven stories about embedded payments. Draw from our own data, industry research, and what our team hears from platforms every day.

  • Help our leaders get ready for the stage. Rainforest leaders speak at our own events and at industry events. You'll work closely with them on the presentation and talking points. You’ll cover a wide variety of topics from interchange optimization to startup growth and fundraising.

  • Decide how every idea should look. Know when a finding should be a bar chart, a process diagram, or one big number. Then work with our in-house Designer make it real

  • Create interactive content that turns our expertise into something people use, like guides, tools, calculators, and diagnostics.

  • Prep content for webinars and events. Some are public webinars. Others are curated sessions for partners and investors. You'll build the presentation, the discussion guide, and whatever else the room needs.

  • Create content for our referral partners. Most of what we publish is for software operators. Our partners advise those operators, and they need content of their own. You'll work with our Director of Partnerships to give them insights worth sharing with the companies they back and advise.

  • Contribute to SEO content, working from established strategy, outlines, and content briefs.

  • Back up our Content & Communications Manager on social media, podcast production, email marketing, product launch content, and PR when the team needs it.

This opportunity is for you if you have / are:
  • 3-5 years of experience in B2B content marketing at a high-growth startup.

  • Embedded payments experience is a big plus. If you don't have it, you've marketed another technical product to a smart, discerning audience. Marketing to software companies is ideal.

  • A data storyteller. You can read a dataset, spot a weak finding, and decide what actually matters. Then you build the narrative around it. You don't just report the numbers.

  • A visual thinker. You know which chart fits each point, and you can communicate it to a designer.

  • Strong long-form writing skills. You write for humans, and your portfolio proves it.

  • Able to write in someone else's voice. You can draft a keynote an executive is proud to deliver.

  • AI native. You use AI to research, draft, and edit faster. You know where it falls short, and the final piece still reads like a person wrote it.

  • A fast, self-directed learner. You dig into an unfamiliar topic until you really understand it, then you can explain it to a technical buyer, business buyer, and everyone in between.

  • Biased toward action. When you hit a wall, you look it up or find the right person to ask.

  • Organized enough to run a months-long report and a stream of smaller deadlines at the same time.

  • Bonus: Familiarity with Claude Cowork and Google Workspace.

We offer a comprehensive health benefits package, unlimited paid time off, paid parental leave, a fun and flexible working environment, and continuously invest in our people and our culture.
