About the role

We are looking for a Social Media Strategist to join our Audience Development team to support our 2026 Anime Awards initiatives. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Global Social Media Strategy, you will be responsible for overseeing the creation of planned social media content, as well as helping coordinate with other cross-functional teams.

This is a part-time (approximately 20 hours a week), limited term contract position, and is open to remote applicants who are able to work in the PT time zone.

Core Areas of Responsibility
  • Ensure that planned social media content for the 2026 Anime Awards is on track across key campaign phases (e.g. voting, live show, winners, post-show recap)
  • Attend various Anime Awards planning meetings and act as a backup point of contact for the Sr. Manager, Global Social Media Strategy.
  • Review and provide feedback on static and video content meant for social media posting.
  • Offer creative perspectives on social media content strategy supporting broader Anime Awards goals in engagement and viewership
  • Coordinate with other cross-functional teams (e.g. Production, Brand, Creative Services) to answer any questions about planned social media content and posting plans.
  • Provide support during key live moments surrounding the Anime Awards, including real-time coordination as needed. 
About You
  • You have 2+ years of experience in social media marketing for an entertainment brand or live events.
  • You have a strong understanding of recent social media trends and are able to strategize on if/how they can be utilized in a promotional yet fan-focused way.
  • You are able to provide clear feedback when reviewing content from internal partners or external agencies.
  • You are confident in managing multiple projects simultaneously, including projects that are at varying stages of creation/approvals.
  • You have strong communication skills and can take clear, detailed notes.
  • You have a strong understanding of anime and entertainment fandoms, and understand how to engage both core fans and general audiences through owned social media content.
