Role Summary
The Contract Manager is responsible for the execution of customer contracts in support of revenue and customer outcomes. This role reviews, processes, and negotiates commercial agreements within established policies, standards, and approval frameworks.
The Contract Manager partners closely with Sales, Legal, Finance, and Operations to ensure contracts are accurate, compliant, and executed efficiently. This role focuses on operational excellence, deal velocity, and risk awareness while escalating non‑standard issues as required.
Key Responsibilities
1. Contract Review & Execution
- Review and process customer contracts, amendments, renewals, and related documents.
- Ensure agreements align with approved templates, policies, and fallback positions.
- Support contract negotiations by redlining terms within established guardrails.
- Drive timely contract execution to meet deal timelines and revenue targets.
2. Policy Adherence & Risk Identification
- Apply contract policies, approval requirements, and standard terms consistently.
- Identify deviations, risks, or non‑standard terms and escalate appropriately.
- Partner with Legal and Contracts leadership to resolve issues within defined authority.
- Ensure contracts are complete, accurate, and audit‑ready.
3. Process & Operational Support
- Follow standardized contract intake, review, approval, and execution processes.
- Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying process gaps or inefficiencies.
- Meet defined SLAs and quality standards for contract processing.
- Support peak volumes and shifting priorities in a deadline‑driven environment.
4. Systems, Tools & Documentation
- Use contract management and CRM tools to manage contract workflows and status.
- Ensure contract data is accurate, complete, and properly stored.
- Maintain documentation and records in accordance with operational standards.
- Support adoption of new tools, templates, or processes as introduced.
5. Cross‑Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Sales to clarify contract requirements, timelines, and next steps.
- Coordinate with Legal, Finance, and Operations on contract execution needs.
- Provide clear, professional communication to internal stakeholders throughout the contract lifecycle.
Qualifications
Required
- 3–5 years of experience in contracts, operations, sales operations, legal operations, or a related field.
- Working knowledge of commercial contracts and approval workflows.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple deals simultaneously.
- Ability to apply policies consistently and exercise sound judgment within defined guidelines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred
- Experience with Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) tools.
- Exposure to commercial models.
- Experience supporting Sales or revenue‑generating teams.
