Liquibase is hiring a Controller who will report directly to the CFO. This is a high-impact, high visibility role as a leader of the Accounting team. We are looking for a dynamic problem solver with a diverse background in accounting who will be responsible for leading our financial operations as we continue to scale the company. You will execute a wide range of projects for the industry leader in the database devops space. 

What you’ll be doing

  • Accounting Operations: oversee the monthly and quarterly close process, payroll, billing, AR/AP, general ledger, and revenue recognition
  • Compliance and Risk Management: ensure adherence to GAAP, tax regulations, and industry compliance standards, mitigating financial risks
  • Audit and Tax Oversight: drive all aspects of the annual financial audit with external auditors and partner with tax advisors to ensure timely and accurate completion of federal and state tax filings
  • Treasury and Cash Management: Manage the treasury function by overseeing bank accounts, debt facility, compliance reporting, and cash flow forecast 
  • System and Process Optimization: develop and implement scalable financial systems and processes to support company growth and efficient financial operations .
  • Team Development: Lead and mentor the accounting team, fostering a high-performance culture that supports business objectives
  • Cross Functional Partnership: Collaborate closely with Finance, Sales, HR, the leadership team and all departments to optimize financial performance and operations

Must Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in accounting, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role
  • CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
  • Deep understanding of US GAAP and the ability to communicate complex accounting issues to both finance and non-finance personnel
  • Experience managing a team and mentoring staff accountants.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks and Maxio) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Monitoring of company T&E policy and expense management via Brex
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify and resolve complex accounting issues.
  • Proven experience in automating accounting processes and implementing accounting systems
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to collaborate across teams.
  • Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
