Slingshot AI

Slingshot AI is the team behind Ash, the first AI designed for mental health. Our mission is to make support more accessible and help people change their lives in the ways they want.

We’re building a world-class team by empowering individuals with the autonomy, flexibility, and support they need to do their best work. We dream big, iterate fast, and care deeply. If that sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you.

Our team spans machine learning, product, engineering, conversational design, clinical, growth, and operations, with offices in both New York City and London.

We're a well-funded Series A company, having raised $93M from Andreessen Horowitz, Radical Ventures, Forerunner Ventures, plus top-tier tech investors involved in ElevenLabs, Captions, Shopify, Plaid, Notion, Canva, Twitch, Airtable, and many others.

Some people just know how to talk to others. They notice when someone is struggling, they find the right words, and people leave the conversation feeling better. If that sounds like you, we'd love your help.

About us

Slingshot AI is the team behind Ash, the first AI designed for mental health. Our mission is to make support more accessible and help people change their lives in the ways they want.

  • Clinical studies alongside NYU and University of Washington showing best-in-class efficacy

  • Coverage in the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and Forbes

What makes a conversation actually help? We're looking for people whose judgement can help us find it.

What you'll do

Review conversations with Ash and tell us what's working and what isn't. You'll join a small group of reviewers, compare notes, and help shape what "great" looks like in an Ash conversation.

You might be a great fit if

  • You work (or have worked) with people, for example in teaching, coaching, counselling, mentoring, customer support or hospitality, or you've studied psychology or education

  • Friends and colleagues come to you when they need to talk something through

  • You come across as flexible, warm, honest, confident and attuned to others, and you can spot these qualities in someone else

  • You write clearly in English and enjoy thinking about why something landed or didn't

Why join

  • Meaningful work. Help shape something that could change how mental health support works for millions of people. Every morning the team sees messages from people calling Ash "life changing."

  • Get in early. You'd be one of the first people we work with on this, with a real say in how it's done.

  • Flexible and remote. Work from anywhere, on your schedule.

How it works

  1. Apply (about 5 minutes). Share your CV or LinkedIn and answer a few short questions.

  2. We review applications. We read every application and put together a shortlist.

  3. If you're shortlisted, we'll be in touch by 25 September.

  4. Take-home task (about 1 hour). Shortlisted applicants try a sample of the work in their own time.

  5. Join the group. People who do well join our first group of reviewers, paid $10–20/hour (USD).

Some conversations touch on emotionally difficult topics. You must be 18 or over to apply.
