    Job Description

    POSITION OVERVIEW

    The Corporate Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing the company’s general accounting operations, financial reporting processes, and month-end close activities. This role manages accounting staff, ensures compliance with GAAP and internal controls, and supports the preparation of accurate and timely financial statements. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader with strong technical accounting knowledge, analytical capabilities, and experience improving accounting processes. This is a mandatory hybrid schedule.

    PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Manage a team and oversee daily accounting operations, including general ledger activities, journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reporting.
    • Lead the month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes to ensure timely and accurate financial reporting.
    • Review and approve account reconciliations, accruals, and supporting schedules.
    • Prepare and analyze consolidated financial statements and variance reports.
    • Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and internal controls.
    • Supervise, mentor, and develop accounting staff to support team performance and professional growth.
    • Partner with FP&A, tax, payroll, treasury, and operational teams on financial reporting and business initiatives.
    • Identify opportunities for process improvements, automation, and increased efficiency within accounting operations.
    • Support ERP system implementations, upgrades, and process optimization projects.
    • Assist with technical accounting research and preparation of accounting memos as needed.
    • Assist Corporate Controller with research and resolution of questions.
    • Complete other ad hoc projects and tasks as assigned.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline is required or relevant experience
    • CPA certification preferred
    • 6–10+ years of progressive accounting experience, including leadership or management experience.
    • Commercial Real Estate or other service industry experience is preferred
    • In-depth understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
    • Advanced knowledge of Excel with the ability to work with a large volume of data in spreadsheets, with knowledge of formulas and advanced functions, like pivot tables is required
    • Experience leading a team is strongly preferred
    • Experience with ERP systems such as Yardi and Workday is a plus
    • Ability to exhibit a high level of confidentiality
    • Ability to read and analyze financial reports
    • High attention to detail with excellent oral and written communication skills
    • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
    • Desire to work in a cooperative, productive, team-driven atmosphere and an ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
