We are seeking an experienced Cost Accounting professional with deep expertise in SAP S/4HANA cost accounting, product costing, overhead allocation, inventory accounting, manufacturing variances, and financial close processes. This role will support critical cost accounting activities across month-end close, annual standard cost processes, inventory consolidation, process order settlement, SKF/activity allocation readiness, and manufacturing cost reporting.
The ideal candidate will bring strong SAP cost accounting knowledge, broad accounting experience, Hyperion/EPM reporting skills, and a continuous improvement mindset. This person will partner cross-functionally with Finance, Accounting, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and IT to ensure cost accounting processes are accurate, controlled, efficient, and aligned with business needs.

Here's What You’ll Do• Lead month-end, quarter-end, and year-end cost accounting readiness activities, including inventory consolidation, process order settlement, SKF/activity allocation readiness, manufacturing variance analysis, overhead absorption review, and close-related deliverables.
• Serve as a key SAP S/4HANA cost accounting subject matter expert, supporting product costing, cost center accounting, activity allocations, overhead allocations, settlement, inventory valuation, and manufacturing cost flows.
• Support the annual standard cost process, including cost roll preparation, activity and overhead rate development, SAP master data validation, and analysis of standard cost changes.
• Analyze manufacturing variances, inventory balances, cost absorption, settlement results, allocation outcomes, and related financial impacts.
• Partner with Accounting, FP&A, Manufacturing Finance, Supply Chain, Operations, and IT to resolve SAP issues, address close-related blockers, enhance reporting, and strengthen cost accounting processes.
• Leverage Hyperion/EPM, Smart View, SAP reporting tools, and Excel-based analytics to support financial reporting, forecasting, variance analysis, and management reporting.
• Identify and implement process improvements across SAP cost accounting, inventory close, overhead allocation, master data, reporting automation, and close efficiency.
• Support internal controls, audit requests, accounting policy compliance, reconciliations, journal entries, and documentation related to cost accounting and inventory.
Here’s What You’ll Need (Basic Qualifications)• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably within biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, life sciences, medical devices, or another regulated industry.
• Deep hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA or SAP ECC cost accounting functionality, particularly in Controlling, Product Costing, Cost Center Accounting, and manufacturing cost flows.
• Strong understanding of standard costing, inventory valuation, overhead allocation, cost absorption, process order settlement, and manufacturing variance analysis.
• Experience with SAP cost objects, cost centers, activity types, statistical key figures, allocation cycles, process orders, production orders, material masters, BOMs, recipes, routings, and cost estimates.
• Experience with Hyperion, Oracle EPM, Essbase, Smart View, or similar planning and reporting tools.
• Broad knowledge of accounting principles beyond cost accounting, including month-end close, accruals, reconciliations, financial reporting, internal controls, and audit support.
• Demonstrated experience supporting SAP-related process improvements, system enhancements, reporting enhancements, or finance transformation initiatives.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Here’s What You’ll Bring to the Table (Preferred Qualifications)• CPA, CMA, MBA, or another advanced degree preferred.
• Experience in a GMP manufacturing environment.
• Experience with SAP Material Ledger, actual costing, product cost planning, cost component structures, allocation cycles, and settlement processes.
• Experience supporting annual standard cost cycles, new product costing, manufacturing network changes, site launches, or SAP process optimization initiatives.
• Experience partnering with IT or SAP functional teams on configuration, testing, master data governance, reporting, or system implementation projects.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with reporting automation, dashboards, or data visualization tools.

The salary range for this role is $109,200.00 - $174,600.00. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. An individual’s position within the salary range will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, performance, and business or organizational needs. The successful candidate may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus, other incentive compensation, or equity award, subject to company plan eligibility criteria and individual performance.
