WHO WE ARE

At Mizzen+Main, we believe what we wear to work reflects what we think of work. And we think work is fun. We think it’s a place of joy, collaboration, discipline, laughter, the ups and downs, and everything in between all of those things. That’s why we make clothes that make people comfortable. We make clothes that let people breathe and stretch and move and think. We make clothes that let them work. And we have a good time doing it.

Founded in 2012 with the belief that there is a better way, Mizzen+Main is a premium men’s brand with product rooted in performance fabrics and tailored silhouettes. Mizzen+Main is a multi-channel brand, comprised of our Ecommerce site, Retail Stores, and Wholesale Partners across the US, with our headquarters in Dallas, Texas. Our Values are simple and guide everything we do: We Have Commitments, We Think Big, We Act as Owners, We’re People Too, and We Never Settle.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Creative Director will own the creative vision for Mizzen+Main and bring a newly sharpened brand strategy to life across every touchpoint. This is a builder's role at a defining moment. You will set the visual and verbal standard for the brand's next era and hold the organization to it.  You'll lead the creative team and external partners to deliver work that is intelligent, refined, and unmistakably ours. You'll also partner closely with Ecommerce, Growth, Product, and Retail so the work builds the brand and drives the business at the same time.

A DAY IN THE LIFE

  • Campaign development. Concept and lead seasonal campaigns grounded in a single core idea. Each idea should be ownable to us, extendable across every channel, and memorable enough to compound over time.
  • Photography and art direction. Raise the photographic standard of the brand. Direct shoots end to end: concept, casting, locations, styling, and selecting and managing photographers and directors. Build imagery that conveys the quality of our materials, fit, and construction with confidence and restraint.
  • Talent and partner content. Direct content with ambassadors, athletes, and subject-matter experts so every partnership expresses the brand's standards rather than borrowing someone else's.
  • Voice and copy. Set the bar for how the brand writes, from campaign lines to product pages, with clarity, intelligence, and authority.
  • Team leadership. Lead, develop, and inspire an in-house team of designers, copywriters, and content producers. Manage agency, freelance, and production partners with a clear point of view and high standards.
  • Commercial partnership. Work hand in hand with Ecommerce and Growth to build creative systems that perform in paid media, email, and on-site without diluting the brand. Use performance data to inform creative, not dictate it.
  • Operations. Own the creative calendar, production timelines, and creative budget, delivering premium work efficiently and at scale.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED
  • 5+ years of creative experience, including 2+ years leading creative teams as a Creative Director or Associate Creative Director
  • A portfolio of premium apparel, menswear, or lifestyle brand work that demonstrates taste, restraint, and elevated photography
  • Experience elevating or repositioning a brand, including leading the organization through the change
  • Integrated campaign experience that holds together across digital, social, retail, and print
  • Fluency in DTC and omnichannel marketing, and comfort with creative that is measured
  • Hands-on art direction skills and a sharp editorial eye for copy
  • Proven ability to manage budgets, agencies, and production partners
  • A calm, decisive leadership style and the ability to articulate and defend creative choices

Nice to have: knowledge of menswear, tailoring, fabrics, and construction; experience directing athlete or celebrity talent; experience with retail environments and visual merchandising.
