This is a pivotal leadership role responsible for elevating production quality while ensuring consistency, scalability, and alignment with our brand tone and audience expectations.

You’ll be tasked with balancing ambition, efficiency and creative—knowing when to push the creative envelope and when to scale back for timelines. You’ll partner closely with Showrunners, editorial, and production teams to guide ideas from concept to final upload, shaping narratives that are watchable, repeatable, and optimized for performance.

This is a position for a strategic, story-first thinker with strong management skills, a sharp eye for detail, and an ability to juggle creative and logistical demands across multiple active productions.

What You’ll Be Doing

Creative Leadership & Vision

  • Champion and communicate the creative vision across multiple teams and projects.
  • Drive ideation, pitch high-performing content ideas, and shape episodic arcs with strong hooks, narrative clarity, and pacing aligned with the YouTube platform and Catface channels

Team Management Across Daily Production

  • Lead and manage cross-functional creative pods—consisting of Showrunners, Writers, Artists, Set Designers, Cinematographers and Production Assistants—delivering daily video content at scale.
  • Prioritize, schedule, and oversee simultaneous productions, ensuring efficiency without compromising quality.

Production Scalability & Decision-Making

  • Make critical production decisions, including when to scale up or down based on timelines, audience impact, or resource availability.
  • Create systems and workflows that allow for repeatable success and long-term growth.

Script & Structure Guidance

  • Guide outlines, scripts, and narrative beats to ensure clarity, emotional resonance, and optimized watch time (AVD).
  • Maintain and elevate story quality across short- and long-form formats.

Creative Direction & Feedback

  • Provide detailed, constructive feedback on scripts, voiceovers, animatics, and final edits.
  • Ensure all content adheres to brand voice, emotional tone, and Catface’s creative standards.

Audience-First Mindset

  • Use audience data and platform insights to drive content strategies and creative decisions.
  • Monitor trends in the YouTube and gaming storytelling ecosystem to keep content relevant and fresh.

Character & IP Development

  • Shape the development of recurring characters and series IP, contributing to a library of fan-favorite content that drives return viewership.

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years of experience in producing, showrunning, or creative leadership roles for digital video or entertainment platforms.
  • Proven experience managing multiple teams and productions concurrently—ideally in a fast-paced, weekly content environment.
  • A strategic thinker with a discerning eye for story, pacing, and audience engagement.
  • Exceptional leadership and communication skills; comfortable giving and receiving feedback across all levels of production.
  • Comfortable with ambiguity and capable of making clear decisions under pressure.
  • Based in Austin, TX, or willing to relocate.

Nice to Have

  • An understanding of gameplay-based storytelling (Minecraft, Roblox, etc.) or willingness to learn.
  • Deep understanding of YouTube content trends, performance metrics, and viewer behavior.
