The Credit Analyst will be responsible for reviewing and monitoring transactions delivered to Origence Lending Services for underwriting, processing, negotiating, and capturing indirect auto loan & lease originations. The Credit Analyst is expected to develop and maintain a high level of customer service with our Credit Union and Dealer partners, to improve their experience working with Origence Lending Services. This role will partner with all departments within CU Direct to establish, maintain, and enhance relationships. Accuracy and understanding of Credit Union and Origence Lending Services guidelines are essential to the success of this position.

How You'll Contribute:

  • Develop relationship with credit union representatives to negotiate acceptable terms of loan between credit union and dealership. Communicate effectively with dealers and credit union partners regularly to build rapport. Responsible for reviewing loan applications and rendering decisions within underwriting criteria and approval limits. Gather and review all necessary underwriting information to determine the degree of risk involved with an application, including but not limited to credit bureaus, DTI, LTV, PTI, dealer risk and relationship and decision the application accordingly. Apply decisions in multiple loan origination systems. Adequately document details of decision to explain rationale. Assist with loan rehashes based upon lending and exception guidelines (where applicable.) Follow up on approved applications to maximize funding ratio.
  • Follow up with members and/or dealers to collect missing items, stipulations or other miscellaneous documentation. Accurately document and track results of outbound and inbound calls. Responsible for sending completed loan packages to appropriate credit unions for final funding. Increase Origence Lending Services overall capture % in select markets. Monitor applications and contracts delivered to Origence Lending Services from select dealerships. Monitor dealer productivity and assist dealers to increase look to book ratios. Contributes to operational and departmental goals that include but are not limited to: turnaround times and loan volume.
  • Participates in implementation of fraud detection techniques, daily processing of fraud tools, and new client implementation. Supports and/or recommends improvement of processes within the department. Participates in the testing of new software and new software releases.
  • Work to foster and enhance teamwork within the organization and within the underwriting team. Support Operations Department including but not limited to: processing and funding applications, compliance, call center, and special projects. Work with team and leadership to maintain service level agreement and proper coverage of assigned responsibilities between 7:00 am and 9:00 pm MST, seven days a week. Provide the highest quality products and services to each other and our clients. Consistently promote and model the culture and values of Origence Lending Services. Demonstrates the behaviors aligned with each value with clients and employees across the organization.

What Makes You a Great Fit:

Education

  • High school diploma or equivalency required.

Experience

  • Three to five years of underwriting experience in a consumer lending/underwriting environment within a financial institution. General knowledge of financial industry policies and operations is a must.
  • Knowledge of financial institution operations, regulatory compliance, point of purchase or indirect auto lending or leasing preferred.
  • Previous processing/funding experience is preferred.
  • Experience in L360, Meridian Link, or Ideal is preferred.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and deliver fast, efficient loan turnaround decisions to the dealers.
  • Computer knowledge with Microsoft Office programs to include: Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Schedule must be flexible, must be willing to work a varied work schedule to ensure maximum effectiveness within business hours (7:00 am through 9:00 pm MST, 7 days a week).
  • Specialized problem-solving and trouble shooting skills.
  • Must be a team player.

Recognizing Your Impact

The starting salary range for this full-time position is $25 - $31 per hour. We offer competitive compensation designed to recognize the value, experience, and contributions each team member brings to Origence. Base pay is determined by factors including experience, geographic location, and internal equity, and eligible positions may participate in our annual bonus program.
