Team overview

We are hiring CPAs and EAs to join our growing CoinTracker Tax Experts. In this role, you will work directly with CoinTracker customers to review their crypto tax data, explain outcomes, and ensure compliance. You’ll primarily interact with clients through calls and virtual meetings, helping them navigate their crypto taxes with clarity and confidence.

This is a seasonal contract opportunity, ideal for professionals who want flexible, remote work while gaining hands-on experience at the intersection of crypto and tax.

What you will do
  • Support CoinTracker clients by reviewing imported crypto transactions and tax reports

  • Lead customer calls to explain tax results, answer questions, and provide reassurance and guidance

  • Verify the accuracy of tax calculations, identify issues, and flag cases requiring senior review

  • Collaborate with CoinTracker’s tax and Customer Success teams to escalate and resolve complex cases

  • Stay current on tax laws and crypto reporting requirements

  • Deliver an exceptional customer experience by being responsive, professional, and clear

Role-specific
  • Active, unrestricted EA or CPA credential (required)

  • Valid PTIN

  • 3–4 years of experience in tax preparation and review; Crypto experience is required

  • Excellent communication skills and comfort leading client conversations over video/phone

  • Strong analytical ability and attention to detail when reviewing tax data

  • Customer-service orientation: empathetic, proactive, and patient

  • Reliable internet connection and ability to work remotely

  • Familiarity with CoinTracker

  • Experience working in a startup, fintech, or fast-moving environment

Who you are
  • As a Tax Expert, you have a minimum of 3 years of paid experience preparing and reviewing federal and state individual 1040 tax returns, using commercial tax preparation software

  • You possess an active, unrestricted credential: EA, CPA, or Practicing Attorney with strong tax preparation experience and extensive knowledge of tax laws and active Preparer Tax Identification Number (PTIN)

  • You are passionate about helping clients navigate the complexities of taxation, and you’re committed to enhancing our brand by delighting our customers and empowering them to prepare their taxes

  • You possess excellent customer service skills, and you are excited to interact with customers through video and audio tools in a professional, friendly, and confident manner

The hourly rate for this position is $45/hr - $150/hr. The actual compensation offered will be based on a variety of job-related factors including relevant skills, education, and experience.
