The role of the Mover is responsible for receiving, preparing, processing and ensuring that our customers’ valuables are ready for transportation and delivery.  Takes upmost care to ensure we handle customers belongs so that items are not damaged or broken.  Provides superior customer experience.   

Responsibilities:

  • Greet customer upon arriving at the specified location and complete a walk-through of the premises. Put customer at ease and provide an exceptional experience.
  • Disassemble and assemble basic furniture items to include, but not limited to, tables, chairs, bookcases, desks, and conventional beds.
  • Ensure to protectively pad and wrap customer belongs for packing and and place with care in containers to prepare for travel.
  • Pack mattresses in the proper size carton, do not fold or bend the mattress. 
  • Carry or dolly items to and from trucks for loading and unloading.
  • Properly unpack carton, place items in identified customer locations and remove packing debris.
  • Properly use moving equipment to include but not limited to:
  • Box/2 Wheel Dolly
  • Appliance Dolly
  • Four Wheel Dolly
  • Hump Strap
  • Stretch Wrap
  • Furniture Pad (various types and sizes)
  • Maintain good personal hygiene.
  • Be a team member, cooperate and get along with other employees.
  • Responsible for reporting to work on time and in proper uniform.
  • Maintain and contribute to a safe work environment by adhering to policies and procedures as outlined in the Company Safety Program.
  • Use proper lifting techniques and methods to ensure safety.
  • Perform any other task or assignment as deemed necessary by the organization.
Education and/or Experience:
  • Be able to understand and follow instructions.
  • Must be at least 17 years old.
  • Must be eligible to be employed in the United States.
  • Have a working knowledge of hand tools.
  • Must pass a pre-employment background check and drug screen.
  • Must be able to read and write the English language with proficiency sufficient to communicate with customers and co-workers, able to read work tickets, warning labels on household good products and carton labels for proper room placement.  Understand and adhere to verbal and written company policies.
  • Must be in good health and physical condition sufficient to lift and carry 75 pounds, stand long period of time, and negotiate loading ramps and stairs while carrying heavy objects.
  • Ability to lift household goods and freight for long periods of time.
  • Provide own transportation to work
  • Active valid Driver’s License preferred, at minimum a valid ID, as required for military access
