About General Medicine

General Medicine is a healthcare store where customers can shop across healthcare: medications, labs, telehealth, specialist e-consults, and select in-person visits and procedures; and choose with confidence. We were founded by the team behind PillPack and Amazon Pharmacy, and we’re building the systems that make upfront pricing and easy booking real. Join an experienced, early-stage team that moves fast and builds with intention.

About the Role

We’re looking for a hands-on developer to help us execute our customer experience projects. The role requires two skill sets: email production (coding, building, and testing emails, plus setting up campaigns, journeys) and web page production (coding and launching web pages).

What You’ll Do
  • Code responsive, cross-client HTML emails from Figma designs and specs

  • Build and maintain a modular email template library, including dark mode support

  • Build landing pages and other lightweight web pages that match our design system

  • Set up campaigns and multi-step journeys, including audience logic, triggers, timing, and suppression

  • Set up A/B and multivariate tests

  • Configure templates, merge tags, dynamic content, and personalization

  • QA every build across major email clients and devices, and across browsers for web

  • Troubleshoot rendering, deliverability-adjacent, and journey logic issues

  • Document your templates and processes so others can reuse them

What You’ll Bring

Required

  • 3+ years coding production email by hand (table-based layouts, inline CSS, MSO conditional code, bulletproof buttons)

  • Deep knowledge of client rendering quirks across email providers

  • Strong HTML, CSS, and JavaScript for responsive, accessible web pages

  • Comfortable across Rails and Next/React

  • Solid SQL to verify production data yourself

  • Ability to work independently and ramp quickly

  • Comfortable with ambiguity, owning QA, and working closely with design

  • Hands-on experience building and launching lifecycle campaigns and journeys in an ESP or marketing automation platform

  • Knowledge of proper test setup and hygiene

  • Comfort working from Figma files and translating them faithfully

  • Strong attention to detail and a habit of testing before shipping

  • Keep builds clean, modular, and easy for the next person to edit

  • Able to move quickly across many small production requests

Nice to have

  • Experience in with Iterable

  • Experience hosting assets via a CDN and working with custom fonts

  • Experience in healthcare, fintech, or another regulated industry

  • Working knowledge of accessibility standards (WCAG) for email and web

  • Basic Git and version control habits

To Apply

Please include a portfolio or code samples showing both email and web work. Live links or screenshots with rendering test results are ideal.
