What You’ll Do

The Cybersecurity Analyst II – SOC & GRC plays a critical role in ensuring the security and compliance posture of Protera and its clients. This position involves the management and implementation of security controls, governance risk and compliance activities, monitoring security events, and enhancing the effectiveness of our existing security frameworks. Working closely with various teams, the analyst will help identify vulnerabilities, mitigate risks, and improve overall security measures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor security alerts and incidents, investigating and responding promptly to potential security threats.
  • Manage and support the ongoing governance, risk, and compliance activities across the organization.
  • Collaborate with IT and business units to ensure compliance with internal policies and external regulations.
  • Develop and maintain documentation for security policies, procedures, and standards.
  • Perform risk assessments and audits, identifying vulnerabilities and recommending solutions for risk mitigation.
  • Stay updated on the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and regulatory requirements to enhance the security posture.
  • Assist in designing and implementing security awareness training programs for staff.

Requirements

What You Bring

  • Experience: 4+ years in cybersecurity, risk management, or compliance roles, ideally within a SOC environment.

Technical Expertise:

  • Strong knowledge of security frameworks (e.g., NIST, ISO 27001) and governance, risk, and compliance practices.
  • Experience with security monitoring tools and vulnerability assessment tools.
  • Ability to conduct audits, risk assessments, and security compliance reviews.
  • Familiarity with incident response processes and best practices.
  • Certifications (Preferred): CompTIA Security+, CISA, CISM, CISSP, or equivalent.

Tools Exposure (Preferred):

  • SIEM: Splunk, Microsoft Sentinel, or similar.
  • Vulnerability Management: Qualys, Nessus, or similar tools.

Desired Candidate Profile

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and mitigate risks effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills to present technical findings and recommendations to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a high-pressure environment.
  • Solid organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
