JOB SUMMARY:
The Scrum Master is a servant leader and coach for the Agile Team working closely with the Product Owner and team members to ensure valuable work produced by the team is completed with quality and meets the needs of their customer. The Product Scrum Master’s key responsibilities are to facilitate the team events (Daily Stand Up, Backlog Refinement and Retrospectives), manage the team’s capacity, and provide visibility to the team’s commitment to deliver ratio. In addition, the Product Scrum Master participates in Quarterly Planning for the Platform events and processes including the Planning events.

The Scrum Master collaborates with the Platform Scrum Master and works with the team to ensure the Scrum process is being maintained, the health of the team is intact and that they are striving to get better sprint over sprint by supporting continuous improvement and innovation. The Product Scrum Master facilitates team-level discussions, maintains, and manages a risk log, and works to remove any obstacles that may be impeding progress. 

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Manage and facilitate the scrum team’s daily work, including executing Sprint ceremonies (e.g., Sprint Planning, Daily Stand-Up, Sprint Review, and Retrospective)
  • Collaborate with Product and Platform Owners to understand the vision, mission, and OKRs to facilitate work effectively and efficiently
  • Identify and remove obstacles or impediments faced by the team to ensure smooth workflow and efficiency
  • Ensure team follows the Scrum practices and seeks to improve how we’re working
  • Preventing people outside the team from assigning team members work, changing their priorities, or impairing the team’s ability to make and meet commitments
  • Build team cohesion and collaboration, instilling a team identity and culture
  • Manage team dependencies, risks, and opportunities
  • Attend relevant syncs, planning sessions, and all demos
  • Coach and mentor team members in adopting Agile practices and fostering a truly Agile mindset, including ownership, self-management, and empowerment
  • Guide the team in process improvement, support the Product Owner in facilitating progress towards goals, and help team members achieve optimum productivity by identifying strengths and weaknesses
  • Exhibit Lean Agile leadership, promote best practices, and lead the team’s efforts in relentless improvement
  • Understand the universal application of best practices and processes needed to scale agile mindset and methodologies for organizational success
  • Identify areas of improvement and helps drive innovation and continuous improvements
  • Monitor the quality of the product backlog and support work prioritization
  • Track team’s progress daily in the Sprints
  • Support, facilitate, and participate in Quarterly Planning events for the platform and product teams to drive value, prioritize work, and identify dependencies across product teams
  • Collaborate across product teams to address and manage dependencies per Sprint
  • Track, monitor and report on product team metrics (e.g., Velocity, etc.)

EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS

  • Requires a bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, engineering, Data Analytics or a related STEM study from an accredited college or university.
  • Scrum Master Certification.
  • SAFe certification.

DOMAIN/SPEALITY

  • Cybersecurity project execution.
  • Cybersecurity certification.

 EXPERIENCE/SKILLS

  • A minimum of 3 years of experience on an Agile Team that was actively applying principles, practices, and theory of Kanban, Scrum and SAFe.
  • Familiarity with Agile Tools such as Azure DevOps
  • Knowledge of Software Development Lifecycles (SDLC)
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal and written communication, and facilitation skills
  • Must demonstrate commitment to compliance with applicable laws and regulations, the Company's Ethics and Compliance Code of Conduct, and other Company policies and procedures, and take all required training courses
  • Must demonstrate respect for all individuals and adhere to the Company's values and business practices
