The Data Analyst 2 supports the Nordstrom Product Group (NPG) team by designing, building, and maintaining LookML data models that enable consistent, high‑quality insights across the business.
This role blends technical expertise with strong business curiosity to uncover meaningful patterns in complex product‑related data and translate them into clear, actionable recommendations. The analyst partners closely with cross‑functional teams, communicates insights with clarity, and helps shape data strategy through thoughtful modeling, governance, and visualization practices. Their work ultimately strengthens decision‑making and drives measurable business value.
A day in the life…
- Lead the migration and evolution of NPG data into Looker, ensuring accuracy, scalability, and alignment with business definitions.
- Build high‑quality data models, transformations, and refinements that improve performance, governance, and usability.
- Explore and mine complex product design and development datasets to uncover insights that influence strategic decisions.
- Apply data modeling and predictive analytics to answer key business questions.
- Partner with the Business Intelligence Analyst to deliver clear, compelling visualizations that help stakeholders quickly understand insights and opportunities.
- Translate business needs into technical requirements and partner with IT to ensure data structures support short‑ and long‑term BI needs.
- Provide exceptional service to business partners through professionalism, ownership, and a drive for strong results.
You own this if you have…
- Quantitative degree in mathematics, statistics, computer science, engineering, or similar quantitative analytics discipline
- 2+ years of corporate experience in data modeling and BI development, Looker Certification preferred.
- 2+ years of corporate experience of LookML and SQL with knowledge of version control systems and database management.
- 1+ year of professional experience using R or Python in an analytics capacity
- Ability to communicate effectively with cross‑functional partners and tailor your message to different audiences and a commitment to strong relationships, trust, and collaboration across teams.
