Job Title: Data Analyst

Duration: 1+ years

Work Location: Austin TX - Remote

Job Description:

The Division of Integrated District Supports is seeking a Data Analyst to support the development of a platform that showcases school system data in a clear and usable way. This role focuses on turning data into insights and recommendations that help schools identify areas for growth and set meaningful goals.

  • Analyze school system data and turn insights into clear, practical recommendations that help schools identify priorities, set goals, and improve student outcomes.

  • Use data findings to build and maintain low-code platforms (e.g., Power Platform, Qualtrics etc.) that display school system data and collect inputs from school system's progress and impact.

  • Create dashboards and tools that allow school systems to easily see their data in one place. Build systems (such as forms, surveys, or applications) that automatically collect and organize data so schools and agency staff can quickly understand results and take action without needing technical expertise.

  • Analyze statutory data across multiple federal and state plans to identify overlaps and redundancies, and use data-driven insights to propose ways to unify plan requirements and eliminate duplication.

  • Build scoring tools and trackers (such as excel scorecards) that help review school system's applications, measure progress, and monitor results overtime.

  • Other Special Requirements:

Required Qualifications:

  • Experience analyzing data and translating findings into clear, practical recommendations.

  • Strong proficiency in Excel and/or database tools to pull, combine, and analyze data from multiple sources.

  • Experience building or supporting low-code tools or platforms (e.g., Power Platform or similar) to display data and collect input.

  • Ability to synthesize information across datasets, policies, or requirements to identify patterns, gaps, or redundancies.

  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to explain data and insights to non-technical audiences.

  • Ability to work independently, manage tasks asynchronously, and meet deadlines.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with statutory, compliance, or policy-related data, particularly in education or government settings.

  • Experience identifying and reducing duplication across systems, plans, or reporting requirements.

  • Familiarity with dashboards, data visualization, or automated data collection tools.

  • Experience supporting goal-setting, planning, or performance monitoring using data.

  • Background in education, public sector, civic tech, or related fields.

Candidate Skills and Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

Candidates that do not meet or exceed the minimum stated requirements (skills/experience) will be displayed to customers but may not be chosen for this opportunity.

Required Experience:

  • 8+ years of experience in Data Analytics and Data Storytelling

  • 8+ years of Low-Code platform experience

  • 5+ years of proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel

  • 3+ years of experience with Data Visualization tools, specifically Power BI

Preferred Experience:

  • 1+ year of experience with Qualtrics

  • 1+ year of experience with Smartsheet

  • 1+ year of experience working with state agencies, the education sector, or related public-sector environments
