This is a remote position.
Responsibilities
Support the Chief Data Scientist with all aspects of the Data Science Workflow.
§ Business Understanding
o Liaise with Subject Matter Experts for business understanding and problem definitions
o Identify and define business problems and client objectives
o Work with Management and Clients to prioritize business and information needs
§ Data Acquisition and Understanding
o Acquire data from primary or secondary data sources and maintain databases/data systems
o Work with clients and internal departments to create data collection, storage and data integrity guidelines.
o Develop and implement databases, data collection systems, and data analytics to optimize statistical efficiency and quality
o Validate and maintain data sources and data integrity
o Clean and Munge data as required
o Perform Exploratory Data Analysis as required
o Interpret data and analyse results using statistical and other techniques
o Identify, analyse, and interpret trends or patterns in complex data sets
o Create Visualizations to investigate and report data findings
o Review data and findings for consistency, validity and correctness
§ Modelling
o Develop Models to generate value for clients and the company; these include Machine Learning, Simulation, Scenario, Reinforcement Learning and Statistical models
§ Deployment
o Make recommendations to add value, based on findings
o Generate easy-to-interpret reports based on collected data.
o Create informative, actionable and repeatable reporting
o Conduct insightful, ad hoc analyses to investigate ongoing or one-time problems
o Create products to communicate useful insights to clients and other stakeholders
Requirements
- Ideal candidate should have a degree in a quantitative field : mathematics, computer science, physics, economics, engineering, statistics, operations research, quantitative social science, etc.).
Good analytical and problem-solving abilities.- ·
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college in computer science. - ·
Work experience as a data analyst or in a related field. - ·
Ability to work with stakeholders to assess potential risks. - ·
Ability to analyze existing tools and databases and provide software solution recommendations. - ·
Ability to translate business requirements into non-technical, lay terms. - ·
High-level experience in methodologies and processes for managing large-scale databases. - ·
Demonstrated experience in handling large data sets and relational databases.
Understanding of addressing and metadata standards. - ·
High-level written and verbal communication skills
