About us

Ruby Labs is a leading tech company that creates and operates innovative consumer products. We offer a diverse range of opportunities across the health, education, and entertainment industries. Our innovative teams are driving the future of consumer-led products, and we're always looking for passionate individuals to join us. Learn more about our story at: https://rubylabs.com/about-us/

About the role

We are looking for a commercially sharp Data Partnerships Manager to own and grow the data-provider partnerships behind one of our core D2C subscription products. The quality of the product depends directly on the breadth, freshness, and reliability of licensed third-party data - you will be fully responsible for the supplier portfolio: sourcing new providers, leading commercial negotiations, managing ongoing relationships, and continuously improving coverage, quality, and cost.

Responsibilities
  • Own the provider pipeline: map the vendor landscape and proactively source new data partners

  • Run structured evaluations - trials, benchmarks, scorecards - and verify vendor claims on coverage, freshness, and quality against real data

  • Drive down unit costs while improving quality and coverage at every renewal

  • Own day-to-day provider relationships, including regular business reviews

  • Partner with product and data teams to prioritize integrations and fixes

  • Build provider scorecards and reporting so portfolio health is visible at all times

  • Monitor the data-provider market for better sources, pricing models, and emerging solutions

  • Identify coverage gaps by market and close them through new partnerships

  • Recommend portfolio changes - add, renegotiate, replace - backed by evidence

Qualifications
  • 5+ years in business development, partnerships, or strategic vendor management for a technology or data-driven product

  • Proven track record sourcing, negotiating, and closing data-licensing, API, or content-supply deals

  • Experience negotiating commercial terms, SLAs, and renewals with measurable cost or quality outcomes

  • Demonstrated ability to run structured vendor evaluations - trials, benchmarks, scorecards - and make evidence-based decisions

  • Comfortable with technical due diligence: APIs, data feeds, and coverage/freshness/quality metrics

  • Proven cold-outreach ability - opening doors and building credibility with senior counterparts at partner companies

  • Evidence-driven and systematic - verifies claims with data and builds repeatable frameworks, not one-off deals

  • Persistent, professional relationship-builder and clear communicator who operates independently in a remote environment
