Job Summary

The Demand Planner, NA (North America) is a dual-function role that is critical to aligning sales forecasting, market intelligence, and customer demand with operational planning to drive business results. The successful candidate will work cross-functionally with Sales, Supply Chain, Finance, and Operations teams to optimize demand planning accuracy and sales performance tracking.

Job Description

Responsible for long-term supply chain strategies and networks that address capacity issues and production location decisions in support of business goals. Supports business execution of new programs and initiatives that include promotional activities, forecast and coordination for key events, new product launches, and network redesigns. Monitors key sales and operations planning performance indicators, cost-to-serve performance data, and coordinates cross-functional work teams to increase effectiveness of supply chain initiatives.

SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Demand Planning:

  • Lead the monthly and weekly S&OP cycle DR (Demand Review) and S&OE (Sales and Operation Execution) planning process, incorporating statistical forecasting, sales input, and marketing activities.
  • Maintain and update a rolling 18 month and 60 month demand forecast across product categories and markets.
  • Partner with Sales, Marketing, Finance, and Supply Chain to align demand forecasts with business strategies.
  • Identify and address forecast gaps, risks, and opportunities to optimize inventory and service levels.
  • Present forecast assumptions and scenarios in the S&OP process, supporting decision-making at the leadership level.
  • Monitor demand planning KPIs (forecast accuracy, bias, etc.) and implement continuous improvements.
  • Analyze and report on sales performance trends by region, customer, and product line.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to the sales team for growth opportunities and underperforming areas.
  • Support strategic decision-making by preparing data-driven presentations for leadership.
  • Develop KPIs, dashboards, and scorecards to monitor sales activity, pipeline health, and conversion metrics.
  • Collaborate with Finance and Sales to support pricing strategies, customer profitability, and commercial planning.

Sales Analysis:

  • Analyze and report on sales performance trends by region, customer, and product line.
  • Provide insights and recommendations to the sales team for growth opportunities and underperforming areas.
  • Support strategic decision-making by preparing data-driven presentations for leadership.
  • Develop KPIs, dashboards, and scorecards to monitor sales activity, pipeline health, and conversion metrics.
  • Collaborate with Finance and Sales to support pricing strategies, customer profitability, and commercial planning.

Salesforce CRM Management & Data Analytics:

  • Support data integrity within Salesforce, ensuring accurate forecasting and reporting.
  • Generate and analyze Salesforce reports to identify trends, sales performance gaps, and growth opportunities.
  • Support cross-BU best practice exchange, ideation and implementation of Salesforce best practices to enhance customer relationship management and sales efficiency.

Audit & Compliance:

  • Ensure demand planning, and sales processes comply with internal control standards and external audit requirements.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of forecasting assumptions, data sources, and planning methodologies.
  • Collaborate with internal audit, SOX, and external auditors to provide requested documentation and evidence.
  • Lead the preparation and review of audit materials related to demand and sales planning, including reconciliations and control narratives.
  • Monitor and enforce compliance with data governance policies across planning and sales analysis activities.
  • Identify process gaps or risks related to data integrity or compliance and implement corrective actions.

Cross-functional Collaboration:

  • Partner with Customer Service, Supply Chain, and Product Management to ensure demand plans are feasible and aligned with business goals.
  • Act as a liaison between Sales and Operations to balance customer requirements with operational constraints.
  • Participate in new product launches and customer onboarding by developing initial demand assumptions.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, or a related field.
  • 5–10 years of progressive experience in sales analytics, demand planning, or commercial operations.
  • Experience managing compliance or audit processes related to sales, planning or data reporting.
  • Strong analytical skills with advanced proficiency in Excel, Power BI, or similar tools.
  • Experience with ERP and forecasting systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, Anaplan, or similar).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate across functions.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strategic thinker with a proactive, results-driven approach.

Preferred Skills:

  • Automotive or manufacturing industry experience.
  • Familiarity with S&OP, IBP (Integrated Business Planning), and inventory optimization processes, SOX compliance, ISO standards or similar framworks
  • Understanding of data governance, master data management, and internal controls.
  • SQL or data modeling experience is a plus.

Languages:

  • English mandatory. Spanish is plus.
