Reports to: Retail Strategy Manager / Demand Forecasting Manager

The Role

We are seeking a Demand Planning Analyst to join our Retail Strategy team at Nex. An ideal candidate for this role will be detail-oriented, with past experience supporting retail forecasting, inventory planning, and sales analysis across major retail and e-commerce channels. As a Demand Planning Analyst, you will help Nex Playground keep detailed sales data, analyze buyer trends, monitor inventory, and support accurate forecasting and business planning.

In this role, you will work closely with Supply Chain, Performance Marketing, and Finance teams to organize, monitor, and evaluate sales data, inventory, and promotional spending - supporting Nex in executing data-informed business decisions. The Demand Planning Analyst should be a collaborative team player, comfortable working in fast-paced environments with shifting needs and priorities.

What You’ll Do
  • Maintain weekly and monthly demand forecasts across retail channels
  • Analyze sell-in, sell-through, inventory, and retailer POS data
  • Support forecasting updates based on promotions, seasonality, and market trends
  • Monitor retailer purchase orders and inventory levels to identify risks and opportunities
  • Assist with forecast accuracy reporting and variance analysis
  • Create and maintain Excel-based forecasting and reporting tools
  • Prepare business performance reports and planning updates for internal teams
  • Partner with sales, finance, and supply chain teams to align forecasts and inventory needs
  • Track sales trends and support demand planning processes
  • Work cross-functionally with sales, finance, supply chain, and operations teams to support inventory flow, retailer purchase orders, and forecast accuracy
  • Translate large datasets into clear business insights and actionable recommendations
Preferred Qualifications
  • 1-2 years of experience in Demand Forecasting, Inventory Planning, Retail Sales Analysis, Forecast Variance Analysis, Data Management/Analysis, Reporting & Dashboard Creation
  • Advanced in Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, SUMIFS, INDEX/MATCH)
  • Skilled in analyzing sales trends, retailer demand, inventory levels, and promotional activity to support accurate forecasting and business planning.
  • Strong data analysis skills with experience building forecasting models, tracking weekly performance, and identifying sales and inventory risks/opportunities.
  • Exceptional project management, organizational, and analytical skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage with internal teams and external retail partners.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with multiple stakeholders.
