Job Description:

Ryan Companies, Inc. is searching for a talented Design Project Manager to join our A+E team in Dallas or Austin office. This individual will primarily be responsible for problem solving and managing the design process, ensuring that design intent is executed on time and on budget, both as part of a collaborative team and independently.

Some things you can expect to do:

  • Ensure team members understand what is expected of them and hold them accountable for performance, provide regular feedback and have development conversations, delegate appropriate tasks and provide timely and meaningful recognition.

  • Work in tandem with client, director, department leadership and key project team members to develop project management plan for each phase of a project with periodic oversight of the director.

  • Lead Project Management efforts throughout the design and construction phase of projects.

  • Participate in and manage design meetings, owner/client meetings and project team meetings.

  • Establish agendas, lead meetings in partnership with other A+E staff, document and communicate meeting decisions and next steps.

  • Develop resource plan including internal and consultant management.

  • Manage internal resources using Deltek, including regular review of team hours.

  • Participate in consultant contract process including creating RPs, soliciting proposals, selecting consultants in partnership with Director and department leadership, executing contracts and managing consultant's scope.

  • Participate in creating and managing design schedule; communicate key milestones and deadlines to internal team, partners and consultants; collaborate with Director to communicate schedule and resource requirements at department staffing meetings.

  • Manage "Owner Authorization to Proceed" process for each design phase of the project.

  • Manage project scope through tracking and communicating open items and priorities.

  • Manage deliverables; document and communicate deliverable expectations in partnership with development, construction and project team; track project progress to ensure deliverables are completed accurately and on time.

  • Perform tasks with a high level of collaboration and set an example for others to follow.

  • Establish and pursue annual goals: based on personal, professional and company growth in the industry.

  • Ensure firm and project goals of design excellence, execution and profitability.

  • Direct, supervise and mentor junior staff.

To be successful in this role, you must have relevant professional work experience with a proven track record of managing multiple projects and a strong understanding of project scheduling, budgeting, resource, and workload management. Additional requirements include:

  • A bachelor's or master's degree in architecture is required.
  • You should have a proven track record of leading and coordinating work efforts of a diverse team with thoughtful, inspirational, and collaborative leadership.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite is expected.

You will really stand out if you have:

  • 10 years or more of experience.

  • Strong knowledge of Excel, Procore, Deltek and other project management software.

  • Working knowledge of Revit and Bluebeam.

  • Architectural licensure.

  • Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Accredited Professional (LEED AP) and/or WELL Accredited Professional (WELL AP) Certifications.

  • Project Management Professional (PMP)® certification.

Compensation:

The base salary may vary within the anticipated range based on factors such as the ultimate location of the position and the selected candidate's knowledge, skills and abilities. Position may be eligible for additional compensation that may include commission and/or an incentive program.
