About Cro Metrics

At Cro Metrics, we're on a mission to redefine growth for organizations and brands through unparalleled digital experiences that inspire action and deliver results. We are an experiment-led growth marketing agency that partners with mission-driven and high-growth companies to scale through data-driven experimentation. Our expertise spans A/B testing, personalization, paid media, lifecycle marketing, and full-funnel digital strategy.

Our fully remote team of strategists, analysts, engineers, and designers works across industries including eCommerce, fintech, nonprofit, and hospitality. Our proprietary platform, Iris, unifies analytics, testing, creative, and roadmaps in one system.

About the Role

Cro Metrics is hiring a production and brand designer to support paid media, lifecycle marketing (email/SMS), and website creative across our client roster.

You'll take briefs, hypotheses, and creative direction and turn them into on-brand, production-ready creative, including paid social and display ads, email and SMS campaigns, landing pages, and experiment variations. This is a production and brand execution role, not a UX/product design role: you're not wireframing user flows or owning journey mapping, you're producing high-quality, on-brand creative fast, across every channel a growth marketing agency touches.

With more experience, the role has room to grow into client-facing creative leadership and brand systems ownership, but the core of the job is high-quality production at pace.

The first 5–10 business days are a paid evaluation period. You'll do real client work at your full contract rate. At the end, we'll either continue the engagement, extend the evaluation for a few more days if we need more signal, or end the engagement, and in all three cases, we'll tell you why and pay for all hours worked.

What You'll Do
  • Produce paid media ad creative for Meta, Google, LinkedIn, and programmatic, to platform specs.
  • Design email and SMS creative for email platforms (Klaviyo, Braze, Iterable, or similar), including responsive layouts and template systems.
  • Build landing pages and A/B test variations from written briefs and hypotheses.
  • Work within established brand systems and guidelines, keeping every deliverable visually consistent across clients.
  • Use AI tools throughout your workflow, including ideation, asset generation, ad variants, and iteration. Manage multiple concurrent projects and clients, communicating proactively about capacity and timelines.
  • Prepare clean, well-organized files for handoff to developers, media buyers, or lifecycle marketers.
  • Explain the reasoning behind your creative choice, such as how a deliverable addresses the brief, hypothesis, or brand.

With more experience, you may also lead creative for complex multi-channel campaigns, present concepts directly to clients, and contribute to evolving brand systems across channels.

What We're Looking For
  • 3–6+ years experience designing for brand, paid media, lifecycle/email, or similar.
  • Hands-on experience designing paid social/display ad creative to platform specs.
  • Hands-on experience designing email and/or SMS creative for an ESP.
  • Strong Figma proficiency: fast, clean, well-organized files.
  • A portfolio showing production-quality work across paid media, email/SMS, and web.
  • Comfort working within existing brand systems rather than designing from scratch.
  • Active, demonstrated use of AI tools in your daily design workflow.
  • Self-directed, detail-oriented, and reliable under deadline.

AI is a hard requirement, not a preference. This role requires active, demonstrated use of AI tools in your daily workflow. You'll be expected to build and manage brand-specific AI agents that the team can use at scale. You'll be asked to show concrete AI-integrated workflows and agent-building experience during the interview process. Candidates who cannot demonstrate practical AI tool use and agent creation will not advance.

Nice to Haves
  • Experience at a CRO, experimentation, or growth marketing agency.
  • Familiarity with A/B testing or personalization platforms (Optimizely, VWO, or similar).
  • Basic motion/video ad creative experience.
  • Bonus points for experience in digital, UX or UI design.
What Success Looks Like
  • You consistently deliver polished, on-brand, test-ready creative across paid media, email/SMS, and web, on time and with minimal revision cycles.
  • Strategists, media buyers, and lifecycle marketers trust your output and view you as a reliable production partner.
  • You manage a steady cadence of deliverables across multiple clients and channels without quality dipping.
  • Your files are clean and easy for teammates to work from.
Compensation

This is a 1099 independent contractor position. The hourly rate for this role ranges from $45–$85, depending on qualifications, relevant experience, and the specific scope of work assigned. As an independent contractor, you will be responsible for your own tax withholdings, and this engagement does not include employee benefits (e.g., health insurance, paid time off, or retirement contributions).

Important Note: Cro Metrics is a U.S.-based remote company and is not able to hire in CA, AK, WA, OR, HI, NY, or NJ, or outside of the United States.
